Well, it is definitely more than a DIY pre but way less than other commercial pre's of similar stature.

jsteiger What video was it on Facebook was it that had the three 251's on the toms? Did you post that or was it me? It is very odd how I only randomly get the notifications when I am tagged. Anyhow, I think R-N-R Rob posted it first.

Yeah, jsteiger - if one is on your mailing list, would one get updates when stuff is in stock? No, I rarely send out an email blast to all customers. I keep a manual list for each pre when I am out of stock on something. If someone sends an email asking when a particular kit will be in stock, I add them to the manual notify list.

Jeff, When are you getting more transformers in? Almost every time I look at your site to purchase, the transformers are out of stock. I guess it keeps the GAS in check! I will be marking the 2503's in today. I am very low on 2622's though. My next batch is about 2 weeks out.

That is not my rack nor is it Volker's or Cemal's. Just some guy who is manufacturing racks to meet the 51x format. I don't think it's a big deal. I doubt he is selling very many.

I got a pair of those, and a quartet of Jeff's LC53. Jeff's is so smooth, it's disturbing. Uh, gee thanks.....I think

Scott Holiday of Rival Sons was tracking some guitars today at Sound Emporium in Nashville. Preamp of choice? The Heider FD312!!

Well, that one is special and will never be shipped anywhere. I'm sure they have access to a lot of great 251's.

Adam Kagan is doing one for the Heider. I know he wasn't done in time for the current issue so it'll hopefully be in the next one.

Thank you Jeff! I just signed up for a free online subscription. Unfortunately, the physical copy is only free in the US. Ah, good to know.

I have not received my issue yet. The physical copy is free. You just need to sign up online and "renew" once a year.

The real drawback to designing for 500 is the amount of connectors you can have which is born of the rack. Almost anything else can be compensated for with good design. If you dont have a good sounding audio circuit in 500, it is not directly the fault of 500 itself, thats for sure. 19" is not necessarily the solution to "poor performing" 500, better design is. Obviously there are constraints, but for average music and dialogue recording you can make 500 work for you. Sure, Id rather be recording classical music on a 100v system but you can make something nice that will impress for "general use" yielding high quality results with +/ 15v. Very well put!!

Albums 2 and 3 were tracked and mixed on the Helios. The JI record was before he bought it.

This EQ is not a fixer it's an enhancer. VTC = vintage tone control.

Ah, I found it! They use to go by St. Warren. Here is an old promo vid These guys are clearly nuts. Very humorous guys. I recall an interview where they were talking about the joke that Red Solo Cup was. Something like how they were surprised that TK cut the song and even more surprised he released a video for it. I just searched credits for Brett Warren and this is what I found www.allmusic.com/artist/brett-warren-mn0000521732 These guys have written some cheesy stuff but they have also written some great songs. Just my opinion.

Written by the Warren Brothers. I think they are awesome though some may disagree. www.warrenbrothers.com/Their allmusic page is not up to date but they have written a slew of great songs with many #1's. I saw some early video's of them when they were long haired heavy metal rockers. Very interesting transformation over the years.

I have heard there are major crosstalk issues in the Radial summing rack. I have never used one myself so YMMV.

Sounds like inadequate current available with the old PSU. Maybe you should just ditch that rack and get one of my new 11 spacers!
