I've read a lot of bad stuff about Paul Simon regarding these things. My respect for him has taken a serious nosedive over the years.

Imagine coming across a dumpster full of 1176's and LA2A's. Man alive that would feel good. I guess some of you DIYers have to come up with a time machine. I heard stories about radio stations dumping their worthless U47 POS in carton boxes out in the street. Can someone take me there, pretty please...

Well, it seems I'm nothing . I joined the day after Ward and I'm way behind in post count. Is there a shrink on board? Please report to the cabin crew.

Don't miss that place a lick, the good folks here are cool even when they argue lol Agreed. I feel that this place was created with a certain ethic in mind and members stick to it. GS was created with profit in mind. Greed breeds hate.

I have to say.... and I know I'm new to the place, but the fact that this forum isn't over saturated with people asking facepalm questions is quite nice. But, there was once a time I'm sure I asked those types of questions, it'd just be really cool if there was sort of a section for that. The good news, I havn't even went over to the other site since I joined here. Agree. Same here. I tend to only go to the other site to check the new product releases Yes. And the Moan Zone for lunchtime entertainment. The drama there is quite funny.

I'll run the source file through my Proreplicas Rev. D when it arrives. Will probably be another 2 weeks though, if you can be patient.

Should I start a "Please kick me in the nuts if I sell another Sta-Level" thread...similar to my Symphony thread on the Purple site? I just hooked it up and sang through it for just about 2 minutes...Holy shit. WTF was I thinking? I promise...I won't sell it again. (Unless I have another year in the music business like last year...however, things are looking up in 2014 ) If you sell this, I am flying to Nashville, and smacking you upside the head with a wet raw fish!! I'll buy the fish.

Grammys are a fake. Industry suits celebrating themselves. Daft Punk is the best album of the year? Gimme an effing break. That said, I think that McCartney/Nirvana song is great and certainly a deserving winner. Better than another JayZ/Whatever cookie cutter, MP3 optimized crap. Wow, you got me all worked up, must take a deep breath... There, that's better

There are a lot of Neve clones, you're right, but the top ones (such as Heritage and Aurora) are in the $2-3K range for a stereo unit. If you could work the kind of magic you've done with the TB12 and the WA76, well, I think you would be able to crack that market. Anyway, sorry to take so much of your time, have a great Namm! You're right, the great replicas like BAE et al are expensive, but they're amazing and worth the price IMO. In a similar price range to what Bryce is offering, I've heard good things about the GAP73. A friend of mine sent me an acoustic guitar track for one of my songs, recorded with the GAP and it sounded beautiful. So, as Bryce noted, that market might be tough for another new product. I'm happy that his WA76 is successful, might well break him into the market big time and generate more sales for his other stuff. Thumbs up.

Well, for me, Behringer bashing was the only acceptable thing on GS. I have used Behringer stuff many moons ago, when I didn't know better. Everything broke within two years. Sure, it's cheap, but you get what you pay for. They're trying to up their reputation with the acquisition of Midas et al,and maybe the quality is improving although, at that price point, I don't think so. It's difficult to get rid of a cheap image. Friends of mine bought a cheap Behringer PA for small-club gigs, we'll see how long that lasts.

That's absolutely true, Levon, unfortunately! I guess, most people really simply aren't aware of the possible consequences, pure ignorance. All people i know who have to drive alot professionally use hands-free sets only... That's right, although even hands-free calling is distracting for the driver. I hate it when I have to think for 2 because the other person in the other car is busy yapping with friends and not watching the road, or me for that matter...

Around here, hands free phone systems are legal to use while driving, everything else not. Not only you get a ticket, if you get involved in an accident with a phone in your hand, you pretty much lose your insurance and are automatically assumed being guilty for a destinct percentage. This can pretty much ruin you, financially.... Right, but that doesn't mean that people over here don't do it all the time. I see it pretty much every day.

Look for a Studer, since you missed this one. Or an Otari. Yes. I have a PR99 that I love, my dream is an A80 half-inch. I would love to mix down to that machine. One day, one day... As for tape, I have used RMG 911 the last couple of years and never had any problems. Then again, I don't use it daily. I still have some reels of old Revox tape from the 1970s that play absolutely fine. My father, however, has experienced problems with the same tape from that era.

One of the things I love about this forum, in comparison to the ghastly alternative, is it's lack of pushers. Sure we have manufacturers and designers here but they are also contributing to the community and not just here for their own profit. Slate has made zero posts on this forum for anything other than his own marketing. I think that is inappropriate. Perhaps we do need that thumbsdown button. That is pretty harsh. Steven has responded to questions and statements here regarding his product. I don't see this as marketing. I value his input because his products live up to the hype. They are good. Also, Steven is used to the way of life and how things are done on that other site, give him time, he'll enjoy the no-nonsense and relaxed style here.
