So what does it mean for peeps like me that use like 4-5 waves plugs? I just won’t be able to update them unless I pay for the sub? Maybe I can finally wean off of L2. Also use vocal rider occasionally. Any vocal rider alternatives? Same here. Two of my steadies. Voice Rider alternate? Your hands and ears???

I still use my old Apogee Rosettas 200s and 800s, they work fine and sound great. But, you have to keep in mind that their drivers don't work with any current OS, so you're forced to freeze your system at a certain point. No problem for me, but I can't upgrade anymore and a lot of newer and upcoming plugins won't work for me. Which is not necessarily a bad thing!

Link still doesn't work. I either get a 404 error or they object to my ad blocker, depending on which of the 2 links provided here I use. Ah, well....

Yes I do, I use plain old towels on my desk, I built a plexi cover for my tape machine, I got cases for my guitars and linen sheets on my drums. My amps have their own covers. I hate dust, it sucks! And it messes up electronics.

Madooma is a long-established company in Germany. I bought a bunch of stuff from them. Never ever had any problems. You may find cheaper 421s on Ebay, but when I buy from Madooma, I know the mics are in great shape and have been serviced. For me, that's worth the extra cost.

Didn't they already reissue the Minimoog a couple of years ago???

I have no experience with Warm Audio, but I own a couple of BAE 1073MP, a 1073 DMP and a couple of 1028s and they all sound gorgeous. My hunger for vintage Neves is gone.

What? A $50 pedal (made in China, no less) for almost $1,400?? Add to that import tax and VAT... Unreal! Bit too much sake, it seems... At least the shipping is free
This one is only half of that, but still, I could buy 10 new ones for the same price at the music store next door.
I'm very happy with my original Mk1 model, Made in England, thank you very much. And even that goes for "only" $450 to $ 650 these days.

I have a PR99 and I love it. Mine has 7.5 and 15 ips. I don't think there are any 30 ips around, but I could be wrong. The good thing about these Revox/Studer machines, besides the sound, is that so many were built and parts are readily available. I also still have a Dolby-equipped A77. Pure nostalgia.

It took almost an hour for my license to show up! But it will. So this is pretty cool. Plugin Alliance just released Neold Warble, and it's expensive, this one looks very similar for free. I just used it on a saxophone track for a tiny bit of color and I must say it did just fine. Also on track were a demo of Capitol Chambers (I like!) and the UAD API Vision channel that I just bought for $20, which is wonderful. Sounds like a record but it's just one track haha. I haven't done any arrangement/overdubs yet.
I got both previous Neold plugins for €49 in a sale. It pays to wait and watch...

Agreed, money spent on a great chair is wells spent and as important as a good pre. I have a couple of Aerons, one of which is 11 years old and only recently, one of the screws holding the actual seat broke. Hermann Miller sent me a free replacement set within days. An expensive chair also buys good customer service, it seems. I said it before: I can't afford a cheap chair.

2x12 mesa oversized. Those come with mesa-specific V30's. I'm not much of a fan of 4x12's for recording. Too much woof. 4x12s are great for recording. But you need to be able to play them loud in a good-sized room. Otherwise, I have a Marshall 2x12 with V30s that sounds great too. Depends on the kind of music you record. Mesa Thiele 1x12 with an EV 12 is a good alternative. Or go for combo amps.

I have the UT47fet. It's close enough to an original, imho, and shines on kick and bass - it sounded amazing on a recent bass session with Ampeg amp/cabs. I also quite like it on rock vocals. I have no experience with the Stam.

I use the G12 and like it. Sort of a 57/121 combination in one mic, although in direct comparison, it sounds a bit darker than the original combination, even if switched to the bright position. Still, a great mic for guitar cabs, but you can't use it for anything else. I got interested after seeing that Kevin Shirley uses it.

No, no harm. I just don't want them selling - which is what 'sharing' really means - and making a shitload of money with my data. Cut me in and we can talk again.

Impossible to limit it to three. There's the singer/songwriter side of me, the James Taylors/Carole Kings/CSNY and Neil Young/Donovan etc, the classic (blues/heavy/hard)rock side, the Deep Purples/Zeppelins/Frees/Whos/Creams/Allmans/Hendrixes, even Blue Cheer and protopunkers MC5, of course Elton John/Billy Joel; the prog side, Genesis/Yes/Van der Graaf et al, the modern rock side, Corey Taylor/Foo Fighters/Dead Daisies/Rival Sons/Slash w/Myles Kennedy etc, the blues side - old and modern, the three Kings/Muddy Waters/Willie Dixon/Bonamassa/Joanna Connor/Tyler Bryant... of course, not forgetting my good old Sixties heroes, Beatles/Stones/Zappa/Dave Dee/The Hollies/The Kinks/The Move/Love Affair..., 80s favorites like Nik Kershaw/10CC/Tears For Fears/Chicago/Toto... I mean the list is endless and I still enjoy all of it. Why limit myself? Oh yes, I hate punk and I don't like jazz, even though I enjoy Miles Davis, when it doesn't get too wild...

Oh, so they changed their name? Didn't notice, I haven't been there for ages. Well, a name-change doesn't change anything for me, still the same old money-making racket as always. I wish I could delete my account but I don't see how. Makes sense, seeing that Jules and Co can sell more advertising with a higher member count.

Buying and obsessing over gear has never stopped me from writing songs and creating music. My last album was finished in March 2020. In December, I had written 11 new tracks that are now, slowly, being recorded. Meanwhile, I have enjoyed my time here and bought some great selected gear. But music always comes first. Maybe that's just me.

For those that are on the lookout for an Echorec Plugin, Pulsar has a 50% discount right now.
The website still puts the price at 99, but if you put it in the cart it shows 49. Hope this helps someone...

Blistering guitar work, Levon. Can't understand the words at all but it's fun to listen to other languages regardless. Thanks. I have 2 friends who handle most of the solos. Yeah, time to freshen up your German skills...
