Hi Benny, you've put in a lot of work with these 2 vids so thank you heaps; they are to my ears very cool and worthy mics. They would be great on piano in a busy mix as they seem quite open without too much upper bass emphasis but still enough to not sound skinny. Nice stuff , Cheers, Ross

I'd like it more if he utilised the neck pick up on those guitars. Cheers, Ross

Hey guys, hadaja's post shows how we all hear differently and I've been financially burned by several big rap items bought on spec because I live in an out of the way place and go on forum vibes etc. (Amphion 15 or Focal Clear Pro e.g.) Having said that, on the positive side of the buy on recommendation ledger is a Chandler TG type L which is a little cracker. Not sure what you can take out of that O.P. but there it is. Cheers, Ross

I get what you are saying about hearing the truth of the mic Benny - that happened. to me when using a pre from a Nagra tape machine - that deliniation of different mics essential tones is an addictive thing. Cheers, Ross

Just grabbed a couple of UAD plugs in a 2 bundle for US $74 with a S25 off coupon and the next minute they say we see you've purchased recently , here's another $25 off coupon valid till the end of Jan. Not complaining mind you but once you have one little taste..... Cheers, Ross

I posted in the classifieds but if you're like me you rarely look at it. I've a Heiserman cap I want to have as an option on my newer model MG CMV 563 thus Im looking for the head assembly without a working capsule which could be an old Neumann or even a Blue (I think) The mic came with an adaptor to suit other options. Let me know. Cheers, Ross

Thanks for you work on this Paul, I slightly prefer B but they are close and in fact I don't go for either for this Vox. My gut says, I'd need to work with that style of cap in my own mic before being certain of appraisal. Cheers, Ross

The 416 is the ubiquitous sound recordists mic and used a lot in voice over studios as well in Aus. Amazed there are no 'plosives with them without the wind sox and also take my hat off to the engineer who decided to use them in this context. They are providing consistently excellent sound in a really challenging environment Cheers, Ross

Yep, the old 451 ( I have an EB from 1983 ) is a great mic with a lot of reach and a sweet sound. Have cut a few albums using it as the lead Vox mic and it works beautifully ( on the right voice of course) Cheers, Ross

The new Chandler type L is one to seriously consider ; will work really well on most sources including acoustic and vocal, is in your financial ball park and I doubt you'll ever want to sell it. Cheers, Ross

Any body have a Neumann CMV capsule head without capsule or one that would presumably fit such as a Blue? or know where I could get one. I have a new model Microtech Gefell CMV which I want to put a Heisserman Cap in but don't want to disregard the original cap as it works great on instruments like accordion, Upright, cello etc however in this instance I want to use it for vocals which is where the Heisserman in another mount would come in ( I have the HK 47 cap sitting waiting). Let me know.
Cheers, Ross

Love his very personalised rendition. as to the Taylor; some of them can sound amazingly good and that is his sound right there soundhole plug and all. Ive owned a 714, wasn't enamoured of the neck shape but the instrument had tone for days FWIW. Cheers, Ross

I've had PT 10 since forever John; it's been rock solid but now I've an M2 which I can either get a new perpetual PT 12 for or just use the free Luna which I may well do. Whatever, PT on a reliable system did what I needed and worked out to around $70 AUD a year give or take. My point is , if the version is reliable why update all the time? Cheers, Ross

As the song says "wondering why" (it should be a hit) ; it feels like a song I could've / should've written. Wiz this could give you cause for optimism , it's very loosely in your ball park IMO. Chers, Ross
