Anyone still rockin' any channels of it?
I want more hardware channels and was thinking of grabbing another one. I liked it when I had it and still like the sound of the demos I hear. I always found it really flexible with solid sonics.

I always found it really flexible with solid sonics. I use one on the two-bus with compression set off. The tube pickup amp ads something nice to the mix. I have not yet found any plug in that can do this.... Did I mention that I i like more compared to much more expensive options. I grabed mine from ebay for 150 bucks. Set an e bay allert and see If you get one for cheap worked for me withn 4 weeks.... BTW. never swaped the tubes .....

I regret selling mine.
It's one of the only cheap compressors that got purged that I would want to buy back.
I also thought it was great on various drum duties. Kind of wild and pumpy. Plus the wooly tone.
I've got a place for it in my lower rack, it's just a matter of cash and time I guess.

I used to have one when I first started out. I miss it. Maybe this thread will inspire me to pick up another!

Proudly sits in the econo rack of doom (the Nail is just a place holder until a 76-KT makes it through customs...)

I still have mine. It has the JJ Audio mods. Love it on drums and guitars. I also have a Nail. Both options, but so different.

I have a couple of the 1073 versions myself. They're from a group buy on a different board about a decade ago.

Nice to know I’m not alone in digging these things. I always liked it on drums and guitar. Think I’ll have to grab one.

Imagine ordering a bunch of gear you haven't heard and then reading whining about it for months on end... speaking of which, waiting on a StamChild and two 1073EQs to complete this rack...

I don't have the heart or the guts to do the Stam thing... I just don't think I could deal with it

If you were lucky enough to get the one who work at least partialy !!!! I must have been super, super, super lucky then. I originally bought 8, and bought 6 for a buddy. All of them worked fine, although the 81's were noisier than the 1073 / 1084's so I sold em. Ended up giving some to friends who recorded for me, and they liked em so much they bought more of their own. All have worked just fine - not partially - completely! Not a single one has had more than a normal noise floor (albeit a bit high but certainly within reason) and none have died. I'd call that pretty lucky I guess.

Good , you were lucky. I'M not bashing the TNC gear, it was nice as i said, when they were working. A lot were not working or were noisy. Back to your Art tread.
