Heyyyyyy I started out with a program called "GSuite" in the year 2000, I exclusively played the JCM900 model. Those same guys went on to form Overloud so it's cool to see their new products.
I am interested in hearing more specific details about this one.
The sound samples provided don't sound groundbreaking or anything, but it sounds pretty much as good as a lot of the better amp sims I've heard at this point.
Certainly there are a lot of good options for in the box guitar amp rigs these days, for people that want or need them.

Yeah I remember plugging my electric directly into GSuite VSTs and being very happy with the results, about 15 years ago! Glad to see they are still around!
Has anyone tried the Cytomic The Scream yet?

There was some free Marshall vst years ago...like some school or something...that I always thought sounded great.
Anyway, so what’s the deal? I could load my Kemper profiles in this thing?

Apparently yes. And while you can't profile an amp yourself with it, Slate says you can send a request to their people to have one done.

I need to try this myself before I believe it....

What Mr Holmes said.. the Kemper is all about the open source that you can DIY and purchase from 3rd parties

The fx on kemper tracks could be cool, lol.

So I could take Kemper profiles and use them with this Slate thing?

Huh.
At the very start of the video it appears to claim that you can make your own profiles with it. Interesting, but I'll believe it when I see it. If that's real I wonder how they get around Kemper's patents....

From reading the GS thread, if you send the Overloud people your profiles, they can turn them into file for this system. I don't think that submission/recoding arrangement is up and running yet, they're just saying it's coming.

It’s still the issue of latency and dragging down all my computing power. Truly the biggest thing for me.

It’s still the issue of latency and dragging down all my computing power. Truly the biggest thing for me. What a friend does, and now I do, is break out the LR of the spdif and have one run in direct, the other hardware modeled,so you can then redirect the new signal to the software sim when the track is completely recorded. No latency while recording that way. Computing power is another thing. Maybe freeze tracks to manage it.

I see A/B tests in our future. Overloud / Slate is emulating the emulator. The gui of the ala toaster is adorable.

This is out today and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. Sounds quite good at first blush and damn fun to play. The "rigs" they include are kinda dumb to my ear but just playing the actual Overloud TH-U amps/cabs/pedals/etc is really fun.

Damn...high praise I can’t tell if that’s sarcastic or not but I just meant that they include Blackstar and Peavey “rigs” which are I think the converted Kemper profiles. Those particular sounds sounded kinda lame to me (but that’s just those profiles). The rest of the plug is Overloud’s various amps and cabs and pedals and I thought they sounded pretty good. Just played a couple Fenders and the Vox and tried all the effects. I like it. The mic/swapping/moving also sounds more real than the Ox paradigm to me. Who knows if I’ll find it viable for real, need to try it in a track, but my first impression was good.

No, wasn't being sarcastic. I just know you are a guitar snob and you seem to like this

This doesn't sound great to me: But then again, I am not a fan of Pro Tools "Expert". These sound better, soundcloud.com/overloud/sets/th-uI think the advantage of a Kemper is tracking with low latency via direct monitoring through my interface. With a plugin sim, I'll be dealing with DAW latency. I ran into that issue with the UAD Tweed. Couldn't use it to overdub on a session with a heavy mix.

Can you change mics? Don't see it anywhere Yeah, it's kind of clunky the way you get there (there may be an easier way, I've hardly used the thing). Right click somewhere on the speaker grill and go to "properties".

I wasn't all that impressed with demo videos either (haven't watched the one you posted). And yeah, latency is sucky. I can't run at 128 so functionally, I can't really use this. Kemper is awesome for that.

I spent about 10 minutes with it. Won't be selling the old Kemper.

I spent about 10 minutes with it. Won't be selling the old Kemper. The second guitar I tried it with (again only for a sec) I didn’t like as much. And I hate all the presets. They sound amazingly bad to me. The Sonics I was digging was just the Vox with a couple different cabs and various 57/414/121 combo. I kinda wanna try a Kemper again though too.

That new Kemper AC pack sounds pretty good.
