Got to admit they are cagey, it launched the custom bundle sale, but sweetened the deal by letting you add 2 extra plugs in to the mid tier ( so 8) and 3 extra plugs ins to the top tier ( so 12) with no additional cost.
If you picked carefully, you almost wouldn't need any other plugs ins, wonder if they are including the bundled plugs in or whether it is only the individual ones ?

they sent an email, it’s the 3/399, 8/699 ( normally 6) and now 13/999 ( normally 10).
You always needed a ua device with dsp to run its plugs and to have that hardware in your account .

There's some good "little" ones on sale too right now. Just picked up the API EQ, Alpha compressor... think in a few weeks I'll get BX Digital V3 and Oxford Inflator... maybe Chandler Curve Bender.... trying not to go on a UAD bender right now... not hard when you run out of money!

they sent an email, it’s the 3/399, 8/699 ( normally 6) and now 13/999 ( normally 10). You always needed a ua device with dsp to run its plugs and to have that hardware in your account . Not in the beginning...I bought some plugs before I purchased and didn’t have a device in my account to take advantage of a deal at the time. As of now I don’t have a registered dongle, so I just might pass this up as well. |

The Curve Bender is great. Here are my impressions from another post I made a while back: The softube curve bender I shot out vs clips of the hardware and plugin affected dry. The curves and the inductor highs are very very accurate. I think bass on the hardware is maybe slightly more solid, and depth and sweetness are just a hair better, but in a hybrid mix with some hardware (like this eq before a hardware bus compressor), not sure anyone could tell difference. |

Cool! I just did the 14-Day Demo and I was able to almost entirely master an 8 track album with the Curve Bender as my go-to EQ. There was one very problematic song I had to resort to Slick EQ M for a more heavy duty sculpting and surgery. But the album came out great and I think that speaks well for the Curve Bender software. I just wanted to listen to it over and over again. |

...wonder if they are including the bundled plugs in or whether it is only the individual ones ? If the plugins within the bundle are sold separately, the bundle is excluded. If the plugins are only available as part of the bundle, it's included. |

I have the Manley Massive Passive. I use it on rare occasions. Would the Curve Bender really make much difference? I wish I could sell some UAD plugs and buy a few new ones adding in the difference. UAD makes an absolute fortune on plug-ins. It's a cash cow. I wish they'd give those of us out here in the music making business a little more wiggle room. We did pay for them, and I think we should be able to sell anything we buy in America.

It sounds more sculpted and punchy to me. |

fyi a big reason UAD plugins have so much latency is that the chips are running at very slow clock speeds. a lot of 3rd party UAD developers hate developing for them for this reason. save your cash for a modern computer and go native.

So, I just got this email from UAD about the Empirical Labs promo pricing promoting the El Bundle for $149. That's a hell of a deal, but in big red letters underneath it says "LIMITED STOCK".
Really? C'mon man. That's an immediate turn off. It's cheap and gimmicky. Have some class, UA. I suppose they could have some sort of agreement with Empirical Labs that they can only sell so many licenses at that price. But still, it's cheap and gimmicky. Limited stock on plugins? Pffft.
But a damn good price, none the less. I already own the Fatso, so it's actually more expensive for me to just buy the Distressor plugin, which makes zero sense. Doesn't matter anyways, though. I refuse to purchase any more UAD plugins until they change their policy on selling second-hand plugin licenses.

When people complain about latency with UAD I never understand how they're working that it's a problem for them. Direct monitoring through the UA Console means essentially zero latency. It's my native plugs that I can't record through because of latency, and upgrading my computer would not solve that problem. |
