I'm wondering what others find to be an appealing Rhodes software emulation. I've got something close in an ancient software package that has to be streamed from a 32 bit XP box. Never was overly impressed with it. The 4front R-Piano is pretty meh. Would love to find something with a tremolo...

Keyscape is the one. Look no further. Unless you need to spend less $, in which case I would heartily recommend Scarbee. Still sounds fantastic to me, even after all these years.

The Keyscape stuff sounds impressive. I've used a combination of Velvet & XPand.

Keyscape is pricy. And I've always heard Scarbee is nice. Keyscape is more of a one-stop-shop for most anything piano-like. It is friggin' amazing but not cheap.

All of the acoustic samples stuff is really good. Also think there’s on called Red Tape

I've played tons of them and have always kept looking until I found keyscape.

Long time Rhodes owner here. I think Neo Soul has the tone dialed in. Not the best in the interface department though. Still keeping my Rhodes.

I don't own a Rhodes anymore, but a Nord Electro 3 plugged into a Twin Reverb sounded better than the real thing recorded at another studio into a DI. So, if you have a nice tube amp, try some reamping.

Still checking all of the suggestions, but the Keyscape is really impressive:

I have found that it doesn't sound nearly that good without Greg Philinganes playing it... There are a couple of those videos...I pull them up occasionally just to listen for enjoyment...

Keyscape - imho absolutely superb.
If you close your eyes (using a decent keyboard controller) you're playing a Rhodes.

Man, I’ve got a Rhodes with a cold solder joint somewhere. Need to get that bad boy up and running!

I used to have a real rhodes but lent it to my friend and never got it back. I have Keyscape and it's ok, but I really think the soniccouture canterbury suitcase and ep73 deconstructed are a lot more convincing. Their VSTs are great.
Their broken wurli VST is great, too, imo.

I landed on the Soniccouture stuff over Keyscape myself, back when I was researching.

Yeah. Sorry, to clarify, I own both and prefer the soniccouture.

None of those ever worked for me. I prefer the real deal whether stock or hot-rodded with stuff like hard hammer tips, electronics etc. I was listening to a 1983 CD is did with the hard hammer tips into a pitch detune, best "DX-7" sound I ever heard, like bells from heaven.
That's the problem with the real stuff, you get spoiled quickly.

That's the problem with the real stuff, you get spoiled quickly. A buddy of mine is a singer songwriter and he’s been self producing a very nice sounding record at our other friend's great facility down the street. But I’ve been sort of occasionally "additional producing" when he brings things over and says "what do you think about this?" so so one really cool tune he has a nice, well played and tracked real Rhodes part (a local guy who does a lot of session work played it and sent in the part) and he has some sort of phaser plugin on it in logic. I said "give me that dry track" and I loaded it into PT and ran it through the Tri stereo chorus on an insert. Man if that isn’t the most beautiful ballad electric piano sound you’ve ever heard.....

She's a rather famous singer/keyboardist in Hawaii. 5 octave vocal range, like Minnie Ripperton.

I didn't realize the real stuff wasn't too expensive and is readily available.. thanks for the heads up
