A while back, I asked Bowie about the EF806 vs EF86. I trust Bowie with all things tube. He gave a detailed reply, but the short version is that he believes a well selected EF86 is just as good as an EF806 at half the price, and hand selected EF86’s are already 170 or more. So I opted not to go with the super expensive EF806 tube and went with a Bowie hand selected T-funk EF86.

These are benefit events for veterans I'm playing at on July 4th and July 6th.: dustoffmusic.com/important-2019-update/and the Freedom Festival. The Freedom Festival will be a big gig and I'll do a full set, the Dustoff gig will be just a 3 song set. I'll post more details asap. Attachments:

Definitely achase4u. I'm hoping to do a video exactly like that, acoustic guitar and vocal comparing the SA67 to the Neumann U67. I also have some tracks with a few really great mics, it'll be fun to see how different it is. I'm thinking it's gonna be good. Almost every report from people who got their Stam gear has been very positive.

I have an interest in buying one using my 50% discount, but I'd like to hear some more reviews and I also have questions about when these will be available.

If you’re cool with that, then no problem. If that would bug you, then I’d reconsider.

I have no idea, but as some cancel others in prod get freed up, guess you have to just decide to plunk down your deposit and live the gear dream !

There were a lot of SA67's on a desk in a photo Stam posted, so I think quite a few went out.

Just got the SA67 an hour ago. Did basic test to check all was in order and it sounds great. It'll take me a while before I know it well enough to comment properly, but having used a Neumann U87 every day for 15 years and having tried a U67 and U47 on occasion, I can say it has that Neumanesque sound for sure. How close it will be when I compare it side by side, who knows. I did a quick test against the beautiful Chandler REDD mic track I did a while back and it held its own. So far, so good. Do new tube mics need break-in? I'm sure Stam checks them out thoroughly and probably runs then in for a while, but I'm curious. I have the one with the Telefunken EF-806. Attachment Deleted
