Sweetwater keeps sending me Toontrack Superior deals on Indie and progressive sdx libraries because I put them in my wish list about a year ago, lol. These are on sale right now if that’s any consolation. I need at least 2 TB to put most of the libraries I have on a disk, so I uninstalled all my SDX libraries when I upgraded to SD3 and I miss a lot of those grooves. I thought the grooves were stored on the system drive, but when I used the manager to uninstall my SD2 sdx packs the grooves disappeared with the sdx libraries I uninstalled. Anyway, I need a bigger SSD, and waiting for prices to drop. For those that have the Bob Rock pack, do you find that you even need the older SDX packs between the new SD3 and the Bob Rock SDX 3 pack? Do you notice a big improvement in the sound on the older sdx packs with the new SD3 updated software? Indiependent is Indiespensible to me. C&V not so much so but there's a few nice tones in there too so I bought it. I suspect I'd use the 71 Ludwig a lot in the Bob Rock stuff. As far as sound 'improvement', it's the same sampled audio, right? Would it sound different in a new UI?

I THINK they improved a couple for sd3? Maybe that was just ezx’s.

I tend to use the BR SDX on everything. Occasionally I steal individual snares and kicks from SD3... Do you have a few songs that you posted with the BR in your mix that I can review? Latest one I posted.

And if you can't afford it there's THIS. I actually dig this free Kontakt instrument--reminds me of boom box rehearsal recordings I use to make in the seventies. The kick is quite charming.

ragan surely you’ve bought this by now Heheh. I have not. They never put the damn thing on sale. I'm not lusting over it hard enough to pony up on it cause I'm in school and hardly have any studio time anyway. But always keeping my eye out for a sale on it.

You have to have it to make really good music.
I really should get paid.

Lol but I will say that as a dude that fakes drums all the time for projects I get paid for, I continuously pick BR over everything else. Send me a two track of something without drums and let’s compare indie to BR. Not trying to be weird about it, but I bet you’d like. But it’s all about what works.

Are you guys still digging this one? I picked it up on sale awhile back, but after getting the Decades SDX and Indiependent SDX, these seem kinda more “hard rock” than I first thought. There might be one kit in there that I dig, though.

There might be one kit in there that I dig, though. Still my favorite. I will start with the Nashville Punch preset and then mix and match with other libraries.
