I reeeeallly don't need more drum sounds. Sure you do. Make sure to go check out Session String Pro 2 while you’re throwing money at sounds of instruments you don’t play. That small section thing is rare.... Oh wow...great tip! I will. Or maybe I won't because I'd have to have 6.34 billion streams to recoup...

I can't imagine ever straying from this. ragan The Oh. My. God. in reference to the Bob Rock drums or the strings thing Jamie mentioned?? I've been tempted by the Bob Rock stuff for the dry-er, vintage sounding kits. I'm not so much looking for Motley Crue drums. Gimme the skinny on 'em in use.

I just played with them for a little while last night, but there are several presets on different kits that I would use with zero tweaking. Best sounding fake drums I’ve ever heard...honestly, I don’t think I’ve gotten anything that sounds like this with real drums. Certainly not snare. There are a several dryer kits and presets. The Nashville Punch and Tape Pop are just killer. I love he indie kit you turned me on to, and I think I would choose these instead...but I’ve yet to put them into a production.

So I compared to the Indiependent and man, there’s no comparison for my tastes. That Nashville Punch (ignore he word a Nashville) is like the perfect sounding kit for me. The biggest advantage imho is having the mix from BR. Super tasty - moreso than any other presets in the collection I can think of. Like it’s actually really usable. You might want it a little drier, but that’s an easy tweak.

Btw - not particularly crazy about the presets included in the SD3 library...so they’re not really indicative of this pack. Also - I really don’t find these drums being like hard rock at all.

I don't think your taste and Bob Rock is far off.
This is the last time I saw his name on something I bought.
...one of fave records ever. YouTube has had it's way with it sonically there....but, it's loud mastered anyway. But....that one Crue record (and the other hair metal thing he did) was 30 (not quite?) years ago.

He’s always done a lot of hard rock and is known for his hard rock drums. I didn’t mean that as a slight at all, he’s one of the best at what he does. I might love the raw sounds too, even if the presets aren’t my style. I’ve never used presets anyway. I just want the drums raw.

Have you tried the Progressive SDX pack? I was thinking a Toontrack’s thread...it’s killer what you can achieve with this program!

I can't blame you. it sounds on point. I've bought a few packs, and i've never been disappointed with them. They seem to have fixed the missing bottomness on their snares

That 1971 Ludwig in the BR stuff sounds really nice. I'd use that and the '67 Ludwig I'm sure.

www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicmultidockeshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/SSD7P6G480/This is my solution for VI’s and working on different projects. We used to buy tape to do a project on an analog deck, now we just buy SSDs! My next project I just tell the artist go by this SSD and let’s get started on her project. I record all of her stuff to that one drive and we just plug-and-play It separates other software and you can have one thing on one drive, makes life so much easier

Not looking at it, but believe it’s a 77 Ludwig Oh ok. The video shows a 67 and a 71. If there is a 77 I wanna hear it.

There are several examples in that, might be easier to follow the link to SC. I dropped some of the plain kits into the ones labeled NP (Nashville Punch Mixer)
