Thanks so much Ward. My computer died yesterday, not a very happy birthday gift. I was planning on buying some new things like new Apollo and microphone or two so I’ll have to put that on the back burner. Happy Birthday Martin! Hope things improve....

That’s what it ended up being, Everyday should end at a James Beard award winning Chef’s beer and whiskey bar.

Thanks guys, it’s been a weird week. My computer died, I have to figure out which way I’m going next, maybe buy a used Mac Mini, I can’t really afford to buy a brand new iMac right now. I also fell jogging with my dog Charlie yesterday. I sprained my ankle and scraped and cut my hands and legs. I try to find the silver lining in these things, but sometimes it seems like it really isn’t there.
So a soundboard is far from my mind right now. Still it’s enjoyable thinking about it thanks for all the cool info and advice.

There are after market places that replace apple video cards, you can actually DIY, but you need to buy the card.
Here's to better happier birthdays !

Not sure which part it is though. Apple said it’s one of two things, but they’ll have to open it up to see.

Then a couple months later I sprained my left wrist - WHILE I WAS SLEEPING!!! Going to try not to sprain anythinbg else for at least the rest of the year....
Too bad you're on the wrong side of the country, I'd loan you a board , provided I could retrieve it from my ex-bass player. RAMSA WRT-20.

Rest up and take it easy for a week and all will fall into place!

My advice spend some time looking at the specs on everymac.com and by used!! Hope you heal quickly Martin

Thanks guys. Well, one foot is twice the size of the other, but I am walking, and I’m grateful it wasn’t broken.
I’ll look into the computer research in another day or two, I’m just kind of resting right now.

Thanks John. It would be fun to finally use a board at home again, it’s been a long time.
It’s actually not a bad idea, provided I had the right cables, it would be smart to try a project with a board for a couple weeks and see if I still really do still like it it or not.
Mostly it’s the sound I’m interested in, I don’t really miss EQ on a board all that much. I typically don’t EQ much anyway, but I use recall all the time.

Macofalltrades.com
Used macs at a decent price, with a limited warranty. I’ve bought a few machines from them over the years. Worth checking out.

I remember those! Not bad boards, except for that "Peavey" logo. If it’s in good shape, great design, suffered from Hartley’s low build cost philosophy over time. Now a recap with some nice caps, some decent faders and pots and not bad at all

I was just looking at an auction for a PM1800-32 and thinking a $100 was way to much even with 2 PSU’s !
