Sweet!! I wonder why Jeff chose knobs instead of sliders.... Cost? Had them on hand? The new knobs look cool? Hates those tiny faders that make it almost impossible to recall?

Maybe API had a patent on slider handles...

Maybe API had a patent on slider handles... Would not surprise me ! And Alesis probably patented no handles!

The recall thing makes sense actually. I like the visual aspect of the sliders though and how it gives me a quick visual of what's going on EQ-wise....

Yeah I just remember another manufacturer telling me how bad the tolerance and reject rate on small faders! Not like P&G or TKD makes them!

Sweet!! I wonder why Jeff chose knobs instead of sliders.... Recall and accuracy. The sliders are a major PITA if you want to replicate a setting or want to try and be accurate above 4dB of cut/boost. The 50% hashmark on the 560 for example is 4dB. From there out its like a very touchy accelerator on a formula one car. Trying to hit say 9dB is near impossible. My first proto was with slide pots and I hated it. The switches and knobs are much more expensive but the module is extremely more user friendly IMHO. Pretty robust. I just finished the homework on the LC40. Its the same exact thing only 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1k25, 2k5, 5k, 10k, 20k. Both of these use the EA2622 as the input receiver. They sound lush, musical and beautiful in an unparalleled way.

I did toil for a while but also wanted something that was visually stunning and would not be confused with a 560. These are not copies of those either BTW. The topology is similar but also similar to the old Sphere, APSI or UREI graphics.

Cant wait to get a bunch. the knobs on Jeff's new Eq are way waay better than the sucky impossible to match 560 sliders. oh and they sound waay better too.

I think I want the freeks on the LC40... I finally came to terms with the fact that Jeff's mission in life is to keep me broke and busy! Should we just start paying the mortgage company in Nashville directly?

Thanks for the explanation Jeff!! Makes sense, and although I'll miss the graphic representation.....I think I can get over it. :-) LOL Cheers, bp

Um, these still look awesome.
I'm thinking LC40 for snare and guitars, 25 for kick and bass.
What are the tops shaped like?

I find the blue print on my LC53a impossible to read. Will the blue print be brighter or maybe a different color.

early LC53A are impossible to read. The color was lightened later on.

I think the pair I had was 25s. Right Jeff? Used them on kick, snare tracking ang e gtrs in mix. Great sounding Eqs. I never liked 560s at all. These are different...because they sound great.
It hurt to let them go. I kept them way too long. Can't wait to get a pair. One of each.

Yeah maybe nothing should ever be labeled.
I think the labels are for when you're high.
