Did the juju ever come out? That thing looked cool. We’re still waiting. Yeah did a little digging. Looks like the some dropping off the face of the earth communication going on with the Zulu R and the Juju by the looks of things. Which sucks.

Do you guys find it better for tape compression, saturation or just generally warming things up? I'm drawn towards the tape compression aspect of it but wondering if there's better/more versatile tools for me to get that without having to buy such a niche box...

1. Compression - no tape plugin tames harsh dynamics like Zulu to my ear. Its the closest thing to tape I have ever used. Its the strongest aspect of Zulu for me. 2. Warmth - no tape plugin "warms" and "darkens/thickens" like Zulu does without killing the "air" in the tone. 3. Saturation - I don't saturate as much as others do unless I am smashing some drums which again no plugin does what Zulu does.
That being said I still like to track with Zulu and use IK Tapes, Taupe, Goodhertz WOW Control and/or UAD Ampex on the individual tracks... then Zulu again on the master bus with IK tape these days.
IK tape is the best tape plugin right now to me and Taupe is still great for oddball stuff like the cassettes and its great EQ's and compression.
As for the Juzu pre-order combo of Juju and Zulu R, I am still happy I got in on that. Nice chance to save $1,500 bucks and help a small company create something special without having to get a high interest loan or whatever. I had a very positive experience with my Zulu desktop pre-orders so I have no problem trusting Langston to deliver again.
Yes waiting is hard and it sucks when deadlines get blown or communication isn't frequent but if you are not the kind of person who can wait a long time without constant updates its best to not get involved in crowd funding and pre-orders. Yes Langston could do better.
Fast, good and cheap. Pick 2.
Same thing with Stam. It would keep the forums and the threads cleaner if we just went in to it with the mentality that we are trying to save money and get something special by waiting a long time.... so expect a long wait and let's all complain a little bit less maybe?

Really appreciate the feedback everyone. I guess my main questions are- 1. Do you use it often/work well for individual tracks or is it better for just buss duties? 2. Do you think its worth the $500+ of difference than the best tape plugins available? (or do you use anything in its place that gets close that is cheaper) 1. I use it mainly on the 2 buss, but have from time to time used it on individual tracks. 2. I suggest perhaps reading the purple site's thread, there are some delivery issues/contact issues atm. cheers Wiz

I just bought one from stratboy, who is downsizing. What are some good starting places for a mix buss? Let say "this is the cleanest/least color it can sound" and tweak from here.

I liked Bias around 1 o clock, and enhance around 9 or 10.
Everything else was set for High Quality
