That doesn't look like one of Stam's photos... Awesome! Remember to check the voltage switch on the back to make sure it's set to the correct voltage! Let us know what you think after you get to push some sound through it!

Let us know what you think after you get to push some sound through it! First thing I did was switch the switch. Unit looks good. Looking forward to giving it a spin. Unit physically looks and FEELS great. The switched controls feel high quality and have a nice click, like a Chandler unit. Meter and buttons light up properly. So far so good.

The Stam has about half the components compared to the Serpent Audio SB-4000 compressor I've been struggling to build.

Quiethouse, first, welcome to the forum! That video was great. Not at this time, but later on, I plan to have a mixdown through hardware back to my DAW (Logic X). Right now, I'm trying to get a tracking setup I like. Once I move on from My Dizengoff D4 pre to a Neve style preamp, (probably an RTZ), I'll begin looking at getting another EQP-1A and the Stam, giving me 2 bus EQ and compression out of the box. In your experience, do you think that'll be an advantage sound wise to ITB?

Interesting that the Stam isn't effecting the bottom as much...although, that's a behavior I kind of like.

I have a friend who happens to be the greatest mixing engineer I know in Chile that uses this same set up and he is thrilled by it. 2 PultecĀ“s EQP1-A with a SA-4000 bus compressor (mine ) and he loves the chain. I totally recommend it Martin

Great to hear from you Stam. I teach music to kids, so during the summer while they're away, I'm living on fumes ;-) Hopefully once the season gets moving I can afford to order one. This seems like the perfect solution for me at a great price.

Yea I'm waiting on an invoice too. The funny thing is I wasn't that interested in the whole SSL thing and I had pre-ordered one of the 1073 preamps a long time ago but I was so happy with the SA-2A and the price was killer on the SA-4000 so I jumped in. I think I ordered in March so who knows how long I got to wait.

Got mine yesterday. Yeah, that price was too good to pass up. I didn't mind the wait cause it was such a good deal. I've got his SA-2A, so I knew there was a good chance it'll be a quality piece.

The pic that was posted by Stam on Aug 29 captioned "Feeling motivated" had about 20 sa4000 and maybe 30 SA2A ready to be shipped. On the purple site, it seems about half the people are receiving sa4000 (more than here,) and half like me are still waiting on info/ invoice. If he can ship 20 units a day, and all the units are actually built hopefully us who haven't heard anything will soon. Just knowing an estimate date would be great at this point. I know I ordered later than most, but I have to be in the first 100 if 60 people cancelled. Idk, im hoping the pic is showing the next 20 units ready to be shipped.
