I have to CONSTANTLY keep logging back in these days, something i've never had to do until recently, my guess is it's some trick by PB to bolster their numbers? I just got done writing a big long thread about the SL 1731's, and tried to post it, the screen that came up said i had to be logged in to post!(which i clearly was if i was in a place where i was able to type out a thread!). What a piss off, i spent 45 minutes writing that and it's gone like a fart in the wind.... dammit! i have to leave for work now....

I get logged out randomly. Sometimes I'll be logged in for days, sometimes hours.
I've started copying what I write if it's more than a paragraph, so that if I'm logged out, I can just paste it. It sucks, but this site is not the only one that does it though.

Both here and on Gearslutz I stay logged in always, even when my Windows laptop reboots. I don't think I've done anything special, as far as I can remember. I find it quite irritating when every few months I have to re-login, so I can understand what you're going through.

That's really annoying.
I wasn't aware of Pro Boards, but I guessed it was a template for online discussions before googling it.
I haven't had any issue with logging in or being logged out. I use a mac, could it be PC related?

Now you know what I've been dealing with on this site for over a year now. I have to log in every time, on every computer, XP ot WIN 7, no difference. I suppose it does get the counter more hits, but this is the only site I visit that does that.
Everyone said it was on my end. Now you know it isn't. The web developer needs to take a de-bugging course. Most users are not as patient as I am.

Clear your cookies, then log back in. And click on "stay Logged In" underneath the login in before you click on 'enter'

I'd bet it has to do with your IP address changing.
Server: Logged in to ProBoards? Ok, store the IP address for this username. Hey, we got a request from a username in this cookie, but it's not from the IP address of that username's last log in. better make 'em log in again just in case their account is hacked.

Both here and Gearslutz and lots of other sites, no problem.

I'm on a Macpro and an iphone 5s, I always check the "stay logged in" button, but it doesn't stay logged in, especially on my phone.

I've lost text entered in a proboards reply box more than once. If I'm waxing eloquent, I'll prepare the post in a text editor before pasting into a proboards reply. I haven't had a problem with a quick reply on a phone.

I never get logged off unless I clear cookies and history. Which I usually do after watching Aussie Kangaroo porn.

I never get logged off either. Unless I clear cookies. My guess would be that it has something to do with your browser's cookies. I'll ask on the support board. Jim, I know you are convinced it's not on your end, but no one else is having the issues you're having.

I always have to log in on my Mac. I don't have any wrong cookies settings either. I stay logged in on GS, Gmail, etc.
On my phone and iPad RGO lets me stay logged in. I have to do it every time on the iMac though.

Watch out for Safari in El Capitan. "Clear History" is nuclear now and wipes your entire cache and cookies, as versus just your browsing history as in the past.

Strange goings on. Funny, but I've only had trouble at the purple site, half the time it either spins it wheels and times out, or double posts. I never go there, except to check in on our old Apollo thread.
I've never even thought about logging in, I just come here, and I'm good to go. I guess that means I'm staying logged in.

On Windows, i use Firefox, i let the browser log me in automatically and also have Lazarus Form Recovery add-on for the rare cases where i could lose a long post on whatever website. Never have a problem this way. DSL, new IP every day. Though - keeping passwords in the browser is not for everyone. I decide on a site by site basis if it is feasible. Never do this for online banking, paypal, whatever.... My PC is only used by me. No access for anyone else. All standard security for internet usage enabled, of course...

I'm on Chrome, Win 7 and it works fine.
BannedChuck raises a good point about ISP's. As far as I know my IP changes pretty infrequently, and I don't think Irish ISP's switch active IP Addresses. Are you guys getting jerked around and having your IPs jiggled about on the fly to accommodate traffic? Would your chance of getting signed out vary depending on the time of day?

Safari, 10.10.3, no issues at home or by phone. I haven't deleted cookies for at least a year, and don't touch my history cache, don't know if that matters or not.
