Any recommendations for a good mastering engineer who works in the indie rock/pop/acoustic genre?

I'd say mastering is genre-agnostic, but I understand your point of view. I can heartily recommend Miles Showell at Abbey Road. He usually runs everything through his custom built Fairchild and Sontec EQs... He's mostly a "classic rock" guy, does a lot of the vinyl reissues.

Kim Rosen at Knack Mastering. She’s the best.

Kim Rosen at Knack Mastering. She’s the best. I'll second Kim. I worked with her when she was working with my main +20 year mastering engineer, Alan Douches at West West Side, who I can also highly recommend.

Scott Craggs at Old Colony Mastering has done a ton of stuff for me that has all been excellent. His price is ridiculously low for the quality of work.

I work a lot with Carl Saff at Saff Mastering. Incredibly reasonable and flexible...I’ve regularly sent him mix revisions after getting the first round of masters back and he’s never charged me for revisions.
Also, Richard Dodd. He’s surprisingly reasonable as well considering his discography.

I’d love to find someone who would give me mix critiques as part of the process, do I can ultimately improve the song.

I recommend Stephen Marcussen or Andy VanDette. They both do absolutely phenomenal work.
I'll also second Alan Douches.

I read the article about her in Tape Op. Do you have first hand experience working with her? Anything to share about her process?

I'd say mastering is genre-agnostic, but I understand your point of view. You'd think so and some are but in practice not so much. For various reasons some tend to specialize or get typecast... Like there's a guy who I send a handful of projects a year and if you look at his discography its mostly new-age & world music. Yet he's a total rock & roller but I'm about the only person who sends him that kinda stuff. Threads like this go on long enough and eventually everyone just names their favorite person... Lots of great people doing mastering. Certainly know more then I could ever send projects to in a given year. Lots of things to consider... price point is a big one. Some can't afford or justify $150-200 a track. Output to formats is another. Not everyone, especially some of the less expensive "ITB" cats don't have an understanding of vinyl, or maybe aren't setup for mfit and your distro requires it. Stuff like that can start to narrow the candidates.

I think offering mix feedback is important for me, followed by quality/price ratio. So many great mastering options. Thanks!

Like commenting on frequency dependent issues your room/monitoring doesn’t reveal? Or do you want actual mix evaluation, like “the chorus needs to lift more, try adding a high harmony to the lead vox and a B3 pad.”

But I’m always open to hearing feedback about the latter!

I read the article about her in Tape Op. Do you have first hand experience working with her? Anything to share about her process? Not yet! I'm going to try to get this band I'm working with now to have her master their next EP though. I just really like her work and have listened to a few interviews with her and really jive with her sensibilities.

I've had a lot of success using Tom at Waltz mastering. His prices are fair and I like what he does.
