Some of the prices are funny. Porta studios in whatever condition for 400 dollars when you can’t even get the pro cassette tapes for them right now. Then again people will pay 3000 bucks for a working 388... Everybody wants s to be Springsteen and record there Nebraska 😁! Seriously though there seams to be this whole stupid early Teac/ Tascam, Fostex I wanted as a kid thing going on. There should be a picture on Wikipedia of a Fostex x15 on the low fi page! The ADATs are only 50 to 200 dollars! Fuse Audio bx_Tascam aka TCS-68 satisfied that in me

A working ADAT is good to have around for transfers, it’s just that good and ADAT are an audio contradiction.

I started on ADAT's and DAT's. I still have hundreds of DAT cassettes that I can't play lol. The only reason I don't buy a DAT machine so I can play them is I'm pretty sure they all suck.

Oh yeah he created it saying it was an idealized 688, aligned with working DBX noise reduction. Nobody would buy anything that sounded like the real world units Ive heard

Atomic Music is incredible. They let me crank up a JCM800 and a Plexi in the back room. I had never heard those amps before. I was blown away and I'll never forget that. I was surprised to learn that I'm more of a JCM800 person than a Plexi person, based on my preconceived notions being wrong. I'm an 800 guy too. I should bite the bullet and buy one. I got my 1983 jcm 800 50 watt from them 21 years ago now She's still my favorite baby.

Atomic Music is great. The upside is the swing around of this gear boom might be great. The problem is it’s not professional musicians buying all this used and new gear so it might not end up back on the market when the free government money runs out, people have to get back to work or face eviction, and have to face the music that their covid home recordings are far from a professional studio You mean like Paul McCartney's new album? You can hear the breathing on the drums (not pleasant), and it loops along like Sublime's Robbin Tha Hood hahahahaha I still liked the album though!
