Looks cool actually. I think this mic would be great for some of my podcasting clients. I just wish they’d left all the DSP compression and eq fx off, that shit is going to cause more harm than good.
The Motiv App sounds interesting though. Hopefully it’s optimized for recording remotely (via internet). There are surprisingly few good apps for recording podcasts between two remote parties. (I’m talking about apps that are friendly to the end user who tend to know nothing about audio.)

Wow! Only 3" long. Amazing.
To paraphrase the old Twilight Zone... "It's a Keychain!!!". Chris

It looks kinda like an SM7B, and the podcast masses will easily be able to figure out how to connect to their computers. Smart. You wouldn't imagine how many podcasters have looked for the XLR input on their computers.

Need to start selling USB to XLR adapters on eBay, do they work, hell no but they look cool😎

You'll see a lot of these show up on twitch I bet. Production value is secondary in a lot of that stuff, it's all about what's on most of the screen, is it audible, is it in focus.
It would be cool if this sounded good though. My SM7B is not in any fear for its position.
I'm surprised lately how good some of the sub $80 dynamic mics can sound. I've been using some Digital Reference DRV200 that I got for $20 each. So I bet with the Shure name on it, it's going to sound "ok." Even if you don't see it being used at Abbey Road.

LOL Yeah when I pull out my SM7B for some reason I'm always craving craft beer and art films, black rimmed glasses, black jeans. I think the MV7 though, will cause cravings of cosplay, monster energy drink, and doritos.

I'm interested in the upcoming Soyuz made TULA mic. It looks brilliant and will probably sound really good. I was never a lover of SM7b's, but did see their value after doing a few podcasts for some friends with my high end mics and it was just too big and noisy. tulamics.comIf this new Shure happens to sound as good as the SM7b that would be cool. I never fancied buying a $399 new or $300 for second hand mic I don't really like very much.

The ability to record one track to internal memory is kind of interesting, I guess for dictation or something, maybe songwriting demos. Nice price on that, nice design.

$200 I might consider... maybe. It is, after all, just a glorified SM57 with no transformer and some filtering.....
Prices sure go up when things get "popular"....

Kidding aside, the Shure Unidynes can each sound great on a given singer. (I know-nothing new there! ) Chris

I love my Blundstones....... Yeah, I've worn Blundstones for nearly 10 yrs. And Docs off-and-on for 20 yrs. And Birkenstocks for 25 yrs. And black jeans for a long time. Not sure why that would offend you, Ward. My patronage of those clothing items certainly precedes Instagram or Pinterest or whatever.

Yeah, but you look GOOD in that kind of thing. I'm relegated to Hawaiian shirts, like those Mob movies! Maybe we need to give the 3630/TLM 103 and Avalon 737 more equal time. Chris

I've been using these for a remote (speech) recording session with non-technical clients and they sound just like an SM7b. Just don't use the limiting or EQ in the app and it's solid. Really surprised me how good the onboard pre/converters are too.
