Unless you are recording classical music, I would think dynamic mics are an essential part of the equation.
SM7B, SM57, 545, D12/D20, RE20, 421, 441 all good ones.

I often use a vintage AKG D-224-E on woodwinds (various saxes mostly) instead of an LDC or SDC. Beautiful in that application. I posit that the D-224 may be one of the greatest overlooked or unknown dynamics in the history of ever. -09 The D224 is a nice mic. Unfortunately, it is also quite fragile and it cannot be repaired once broken. I have a non-working D224, as well as a D202, and a D19c. I did not know that. I've had mine for over 30 years; never an issue. Thanks for that tidbit of info. -09

Senn 441 (ok, or a U67, which can actually sound quite similar) is my absolute desert island mic.
