I saw Drew made a comment on FB today that UA may have changed how console accesses chips for tracking ? I was just reading the article about channel DSP sharing. That is a legitimate upgrade to Console. Great move UA. help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030068452

Two big things....
Channel DSP sharing: the 1 chip per input has been removed.
+12dB on faders in Console: solves the issue many users had about not having enough gain in Mon and Cues to "get up over" a hot track coming out of the DAW.

So - if I keep it just set to default, DSP pairing would only occur if I put enough plugs on the input channel to cause it to go into DSP pairing? And the latency isn't affected until it passes that threshold? This will only affect what we hear back from console? The DAW should account for putting it in the right place, correct?
Also - did PT ever fix the IDC issue?

In addition to the 175/6 and the DSP Pairing already mentioned, Console now has +12dB faders throughout. This is a big improvement when overdubbing and you need to get something up and over a hot track coming out of the DAW.

The DSP sharing will really open up some possibilities for guitar sim chains with pedals, fx, etc.

It’s definitely colored. Just mixed a super sparse/spacey tune and used it on vocals and crushing a loop. Seems like the 175 really shines crushing. Beautiful attack on this.

I'm always having trouble hearing myself over tracks unless i turn them way down. Of course, I also have a quiet voice and some not very loud outboard preamps that will distort too much if I crank them up high enough to hear better.

Drew, does the DSP sharing in any way affect latency? kcat beat me. So since DSP sharing was apparently something that was possible all along with the older Apollos, what were the roadblocks and/or what was the reason that UA just now finally decided to make this a reality?
