We actually landed on a custom BV08 that won out over every option we tested.. And we tried AMI,Cinemag,Haufe and a few others. It's really the best option with our internal component choices and capsule. Honestly I really feel that the time and care regarding every aspect of this mic is going to set it apart. No one is going to be disappointed. Especially at this price point. Eric Heiserman That is absolutely fantastic news!! I should add that it's a USA made transformer, and not Edcor

I'm particularly happy with the "little details" they have implemented. Like the binder connectors, nice power supply, pattern select switch, legit shock mount, body style (hopefully it doesn't feel like "tin" and feels heavy duty. From the other choices, I suspect it will.
Maybe @johnkenn can speak to the body build.... John?
Personally, I'm willing to pay above the ground level clone price for a build that feels more like what it's emulating. <thumbsup Heiserman>

I know it's petty, but 67 clones don't look the same and it bothers me. (Lawsuits and stuff) I'd stick with 47's and 251's.

Obviously not John, but IMHO the Heiserman 47's are very well made.
I'd like to hear from John E. too, how he's enjoying his FET model. Chris

I'm interested in a comparison of the body weight and solid build of vintage 47's compared to the tin can feel of many of the clones. Maybe Eric Heiserman can address that too. Hoping.....
also, Eric - what's your pre-sale policy? 100% down, or a portion or ?? Sorry, not familiar with how you guys do it. Thx.

I don't remember there being an appreciable difference in the feel/weight of our mic and the vintage mic that we compared it to. It's using the same materials at the same dimensions as the vintage mic... the headbasket is even swappable with a vintage mic. I imagine ours would weigh just a shade less since it's a glass tube.

what's your pre-sale policy? 100% down, or a portion or ?? Sorry, not familiar with how you guys do it. Thx. We're taking a deposit of $500, and the balance due upon shipment. Also, there's a 14 day trial period, and a 3 yr warranty. We intend to start the pre-sale in the next several days.

The body is fantastic looking and the Binder connector looks fantastic. It's a little hard to initially get on...I've spent more than a few minutes trying to line it up right several times. Love the matte finish too. I'll see if I can't get a few shots. They said they were going to post a few later in the week too.

It's heavy btw - but so was the IOAudio one if I remember correctly. My IOAudio body is kind of ringy. Resonant. The mic is heavy, but the body itself is kind of tinny, and resonant / ringy. I'm not sure if there were different bodies.....

My Flea47 is shockingly light. My BeesNeez is the heaviest mic I've ever held. I much prefer the beef of the Bees.

I have to say, that H47 FET mic blows me away too. I used a pair on piano on Kathleen Edwards new album and they were stunning. Just chiming in to show my surprise and delight to hear Kathleen Edwards will have a new album! I thought she quit the industry to run a cafe in Canada. One of my favorite singers. Now back to your regularly scheduled mic drooling!

Well my own vintage U47 and all the other real ones I've used over the years are surprisingly light. The aluminum body contributes to this. Large badge Neumann ones are a little heavier because of the larger transformer. The FLEA should weigh the same as my own, 653 grams or about 1.5 lbs

The FleA 47 is pretty light too. I was surprised when I first picked it up. I expected it to be really heavy.
