I'd like to try this... apparently springs are really hard to emulate.

How about vs. UAD BX20?

This looks nice and for the covenience, a plugin like this one probably unbeatable. But, since I love the tactile feel of actual stuff and knobs, I have a couple of real spring reverbs, including the RE201, and I just asked a friend to build me a tube spring reverb, just like the old Fender one. Plus, I also have the UAD BX20. I guess I'm all set.

Auditioned some spring reverb plugins today. This one sounds pretty sweet to me. Not every model included is something I think I'd use, but there are some models that really feel good. And you can tweak with plenty of editing options without it seeming too overwhelming.
No option right now to amp/reamp to a guitar amp, which is one reason I'm looking at the plugins. I usually have found spring reverb plugins to be lacking. And I often track with a nice pedal myself, but I don't have a setup to use as an insert for mixing. And even though the UAD BX 20 can sound really lovely much of the time, it just can't give me some of the drippy drenched guitar sounds I want to come closer to a Fender amp reverb.
I think two or three of the models in this Audio Thing plugin can get me much closer.
I've also really been impressed with the Arturia Rev Spring 636. That has eight tank models, less diverse than the Audio Thing, rather all of them sound a bit closer in results to me, but still… these are pretty good options.
The UAD Galaxy and Softube Spring Reverb were ultimately disappointing for what I was after.
