Well, in part because everyone here raves about the Fabfilter EQ, I finally pulled the trigger on it last week when it was on sale. So I'm hoping someone might be able to help out. When I insert the Pro Q3 on a stereo track it works as it should. But when I place it on a mono track such as a vocal etc. it only partly/weakly processes the track. I have many other EQs that I use with Cubase and they've all been just plug and play with zero problems. I've contacted Fabfilter but to date they haven't been very helpful. Maybe this is as simple as a need to set things up differently in Cubase than normal, or maybe it's a glitch with Fabfilter. I spent $107 on this, so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I paid 40% more for that plug (grrr) and worth very penny. I assume you are running it as a VST3 plug in Cubase?

In Cubase you can put a stereo plugin on a mono track but you can’t put a mono plugin on a stereo track or only one side will be effected.
Make sure the individual tracks are actually mono, don’t trust the wave form. Cubase will let you drag and drop and/or record a mono source on a stereo track.

Thanks John. If the Fabfilter is separated into two separate plugins that's totally new to me, and I own a LOT of plugins. On the other hand, there's a place on the Pro Q3 GUI to select mono or stereo and I've have it selected to mono. (see attachment of radical low cut as I was testing out the problem.) It would SEEM that should work but it doesn't. When I go back to my studio tonight I'll check to make sure that I've downloaded everything I should have from Fabfilter. I really want this to work. Thanks all for weighing in.

My headphone icon that lets you hear the frequency you’re effecting doesn’t work in Cubase and I think it’s only mono. There must be some bugs.

As a workaround, can you make the track stereo? At least you would be able to continue your mix while you figure this out

As a workaround, can you make the track stereo? At least you would be able to continue your mix while you figure this out I suppose that could work temporarily. But the whole idea of buying Fabfilter was to use it all the time in my daily workflow, not as an occasional plugin where I'm cool with accommodating quirks. I'll ask for my money back if it doesn't work like it's supposed to, i.e. like every other eq plug in I own. I do hope they get back to me.

I went back to the Fabfilter download page and tried downloading the Entire Bundle instead of the single Pro Q3 plugin and now everything seems to work fine. Only the algorithmic gods know why. Of course I now have 150MB of FF plugins on my hard drive that I can't use unless I purchase them, but that seems to be a trend with the bigger plugin makers--a trend I'm not crazy about. Thanks for all of your helpful suggestions folks.

Hey, I had the same issue tonight and decided to do some investigating. The problem seems to be on the VST2 version. I installed both, then I installed one at a time to see if it was happening across the board. The VST3 version is working fine on my system at least. Hope this helps if you wanna ditch all the other plugins on your system.
