anyone using duel mics on a regular basis. ie for drums.....
i'm looking for suggestions of clamp on mic arms so I can turn my stands into twin mic setups for top and bottom mics on drums. looked around online but not sure what's best.

Hi. I needed to mount a couple of mics for an M/S setup and I faced a similar situation. I took a cowbell clamp and drilled out the right-angled bar that actually held the bell. A 1/4-20 bolt then slips right through the hole where the mounting bar used to be, and connects to the shock mount of the mic. The whole thing easily clamps onto a mic stand or any other kind of tripod. You might have to play with some adapters, depending on your mic clips, but I've hopefully made the concept clear.

that's not a bad idea, I had to get some tom clamps recently and the drum section is like a plumbers shop.

thanks grummy,
I found a k&m connector for $60 which I could then put short gooseneck onto. just not sure how good goose necks are.

Put a small boom on it. You can buy just the boom part.

I find goose necks almost always a bigger pain then help.

I picked up a couple of boom arms from Audiopile and screw them onto a clamp on mic extension bar. The extension bar has a little flex to it but once you get it set it works fine. Great for mid-side/blumlein, dual micing cabs etc. I've seen some pop filter clamps that will accept a mic clip/boom arm thread once the filter arm is removed that'll work in a pinch.
