just wondering if any body has done one or used the hairball stereo kit, building the board looks straightforward enough, the build guide refers to an actual 1176 board, so trying to better understand where to put wires on the wa 76 board the green rectangle refers to a specific numbered hole so wondering how I identify that on the wa 76 pcb ? !

Kcat, is the WA based off the hairball kit?

hey TC, bryce doesn't have a stereo mod,he recommended the Hairball to me.
Those pics are of one of the HB board built and the basic wiring diagram from the diy build thread
As the kit is for the actual 1176 kit, i am just looking for confirmation of where on the wa76 board i solder the leads shown in the green rectangles.
I can see the leads to the switch and to the trs ( stereo or mono)
B4 i start something like this i like to know exactly what i need to do.

To complete this build you also need 2 switches and 2 trs female lugs and some internal wiring.
Check that the parts are available from Hairball and include in your order for 1 shipping charge. If not, you could check your local electronics store or on line like Mouser who are very prompt.
I just checked my kit from HB and all the parts are there as specified on the BOM.
I'll probably stuff and solder the boards tomorrow: 2 op amps, 5 caps and about 10 resisters per board so not too bad.
I just double checked the resister band colour coding and sorted parts for each board: like to be organized. B4 i start!
Need to buy some isopropyl as well for cleaning the board before and after soldering. aqualung would have sucked at diy electronics !

I love how efficient mouser is sending stuff here are the two trs plugs and the two switches When you stereo link the 2 mono compressors, there is not a master so you need to balance them by ear So a stereo link kit for each unit. oops net gremlins pic upside down ! Attachment Deleted

So when is the phase 2 coming out? I would love to see how it comes out, as well as specifics when it comes to the WA76.

Hi,
Sorry to say I never made any more progress on this as the guy at hairball wasn't very helpful and I never could identify exactly how to do the wiring.
There is a view that the natural variation of 76 comps means they would not be the best for supporting a stereo image ?

Hmm, seems like there should be plenty of people who could have a look and sort it for you. My impression is that having a full set of matched FET's makes matching much easier.

In the thread I posted I did have pics of the hairball build , but I ended up just buying a stam ssl stereo comp and using my 2 wa76's in mono.
