So. I need to purchase a minimum of 40 pair of cans and anywhere from half to 1/3 that same amount of headphone amps.
I need them for an experimental piece of theatre where the audience takes in over half the show in cans. Being theatre there is a tight budget as always.
One initial though is to check out the Moreme headphones. They can be readily purchased in bulk and I've heard they are durable and sound OK. For headphone amps there are a few from Behringer that I'm pretty sure would cover the basics needed here. I have personally tried the Behringer headphone amps, although I am usually skeptical of most things with the B word I have never had a problem with their HP amps.
For affordable cans I actually have and am thoroughly impressed with Nady QH560. I had two pairs for a long time. They sound WAY better than anything else I've heard more double their price & under, are fairly light & comfy, and are tough as hell. I put them through the ringer in the studio and for live gigs and I never had a problem over years of use. Durability wise they've outlasted headphones I've had almost 10 times their price. Problem for this gig is they are open back. The bleed could be an issue as not every audience member will be listening to the same thing. I am considering getting a handful of these still though. And just making sure that they are never side by side. So there is a buffer of one closed back set between every QH560. I'll nee
What's the best bang for buck headphones for bulk like this. Being that they will be worn by the general public I figure durability is right up with sound quality in this case. Unfortunately I have the task of keeping cost to a bare minimum as well. This is why I'm really only looking at the lower end of things.
Anyone on here have experience with Moreme headphones? Any other alternatives that I should look into checking out in this $20-$40 per pair price range? I'll probably go to the local shops to test what I can locally this week. Chances are in this price range with what's available locally I'll be listening to Behringers. But Before laying down for the bulk order I'll probably oreder a few single pairs of ones that are hopefuls that I can't find locally.
