Haven't tried these yet. I was reading some nice comments about the vari-mu sta level from Klanghelm today. Seems like that guy is doing good work for a very reasonable price.

I demoed then bought. Had a good price to get the 3 comps, 3 filters, and their 3 pres so I figured why not. In a quick test I prefer the Arturia Sta to the Sknote.

Have you guys tried the UAD Manley Vari-mu? I like it pretty well. I wonder how these compare.

I have that as well as the Klanghelm MJUC. Still too new with the Arturia versions and haven't done any direct comparisons against those yet so time will tell. It was just a quick test with the Sta and the 165 that sold me, feel different to the Manley and MJUC (Fairchild too). As far as I know the 165 hasn't been done before, just the 160. Would love to compare it to another 165 if anyone knows of one.

Don’t think the MJUC is actually the Sta-Level even though it looks like it. I totally forgot I had that thing though. Really good set of comps. I’d be interested in the sta and 165. Gonna have to check this out.

Yeah the MJUC is pretty awesome, don't think it's supposed to be a Sta but I like it. The only one I knew that was supposed to be one was the Sknote which I always found handy as it's HDX but usually came off in the mix. Curious what you'll think of the Sta John as you've had a lot more experience with it than I have. I'm really digging the 165 on drums for some snare smash.

Yeah - I have the MJUC. And a real STA-Level. Aside from the obvious software hardware difference, they are different. MJUC is a nice comp and a great value, but it’s not similar to a STA-level. Seems there’s a bit of a good buzz about these new Arturia plugs on some other forums. I hope to check them out tonight or tomorrow.

I like the Arturia STA on bass, but not on vocals, where I still prefer MJUC.
The VCA 65 is excellent. I've used it on kick, snare, and acoustic guitar so far. Has a great character that reminds me of my old Symetrix 501 in tone. Real smooth in the mids. This one is replacing NI VC160 on snare and kick for me. It sounds more open and clear.
The FET76 is also excellent. Currently using it on drum bus. Messed with the extra controls to get an even better sound. I've been waiting for something like this to come along. Think I removed IK T-Racks 76 from my folder that one doesn't hold up at all. The Arturia is up there with the UADs.
As far as Waves goes, the Bluie inside the CLA Mix Hub didn't hold up too well. But the FET inside the Scheps Omni channel has all the tone of the Arturia or UAD, it's just more simplified. I think it might have been clipping a little more easily though, not sure. I love that Omni channel, all the modules seem to sound good.

I bought their Drumbrute Impact drum machine on Tuesday, it's incredible value, like my old 606 but with way more features. Love it!

Just getting around to demoing these and I'm pretty blown away with them. Like all of them. Might have to grab them...they're also really easy on the CPU. Love the 76 - might even give the UAD a run for its money. I also like the 140 in the mix.

Not sure why they don't get more attention - they're really pretty good. Demoed the space echo today - very cool!

Yep. Until May 6th, if I'm not mistaken.
Too bad the bundles aren't on sale, though. I was going to buy the delay bundle. I want the Space Echo but the Memory Man looks cool too.

As an aside, Analog Lab and Pigments are both free until the 4th of July. I usually ignore time-limited demos just like subscriptions, as if I use something I want it available when I recall the session, but made an exception for soft synths I'd print anyway. Been playing Analog Lab with a tiny IK UNO and it's surprisingly fun, preset browsing works from the little synth and mapping it's control knobs to the controllers shared across the models was easy.
