I only have one VSL library (Chamber Strings), so in my PT11 adventures, I've downloaded the latest version and I can now use it in PT11. I figured out how to use plugs to effect the string sounds, but how do you use it on existing audio? Will the free version of Ensemble Pro not work - only Ensemble Pro 5? What was the Blue Cat plug that would do this?
BTW - I've tried a bunch of different string VI's...but I hadn't been using my Chamber strings that much - it was such a hog, I had just put it on the backburner...lately I had been struggling with the 8DIO stuff. But man, I had forgotten how good these things are. Maybe it's just that I love the sound of this really small chamber...but the recordings are just stellar. And it's working without a hitch in PT11.

I want to go full on PT11 so bad it's killing me. I need more processing power, but almost all of my plugins won't cross over. What's the general idea here, you do somethings on 11, and then go back over to 10 to mix? That's when I need the power, in mixing. I think if Slate would get VTM, VBC, FGX all ported over I'd go ahead and go full 11, those are the ones that I can hardly live without.

VTM was supposed to be at the end of Jan. Then it was supposed to be last week. Still no word from slate. I'm going to use Massey Tapehead and FabFilter Pro-L in the meantime.

Yeah - track and or build it in PT11 and then mix in 10...You can open up 10 and then double click the 11 ptx file...and she pops right up...No transferring or anything. I just renamed the PTX...I had SD2, Stylus, Addictive Drums and addictive drums all running at 64 buffers. I didn't want to press my luck, so I offline bounced them, made the Instrument tracks inactive and then opened up Vienna Strings, Xpand and Addictive Keys all at once...Made creativity TONS easier.
