This "Live" concert sounds fantastic. Is it really live? It sounds so clean and good. I'm sure it's not 100% live but really.... How much of it is live. Also does anyone know who mixed it?

Sounds very LIVE to me. Vocals are 100% live & rhythm section looks/sounds live. There's triggering of synths & percussion but it's a performance. One of my favorite groups!

It's not perfect at all but man it sounds good. I'm pretty hard on live mixers now a days but I would like to shake this guys hand.

Great band. I saw them on the Songs from the Big Chair tour. Had no clue who they were really, just wanted to see something remotely different for back then. For all the dancy synth stuff they had done up until then, this was a proper rock concert and they blew the crowd away. If you read up on how they made that album it is really impressive, and the engineers did a fantastic job building up their sound.

It'll be recorded to multi-track and post produced so short of bad performance , it should be a good mix and sound this good . Cheers, Ross

I'm sure that's not the FOH mix and that it was multitracked and then mixed for release.

I saw them last summer for The Tipping Point tour.
They sounded fantastic and it likely could have been an album. Really impressive how much their sound has evolved over the years.
Carina Round from the band Puscifer was their backup singer and was super impressive. Great band all around.

The amount of musical talent that exists throughout our world is insane and often underestimated. It’s a force that exists in communities everywhere and I suspect its power is less understood than our oceans.

Thanks kerryluis for reviving this thread. I love this band and this concert performance. Definitely multitracked and mixed/sweetened later like most live presentations. Normal. So enjoyable!

Yeah those dudes are absolute masters of their world. I went to see them live 10+ years ago. Dodgy vocal pitching. Aside from that the band sounded very good.

I vote live with click track, but mostly live.
I watched Everybody Wants to Rule the World and Seeds of Love. Who is playing the shaker in EWTRtW and the tamborine in Seeds ? If I missed something, someone let me know.
That said, sounds great. TFF made some incredible music. I'm going to go back and watch the entire performance.

Almost every big act goes out with sequenced tracks for 'enhancement.' Last summer Hulu played ACL on 2 different feeds so we spend a bunch of time watching different performances. The only one not using some kind of backing tracks was the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The bass was overwhelming/ducking everything, especially the vocals, which doesn’t sound too different from most live shows that I attend in person these days. The one song without bass guitar sounded good.

I saw Gary Numan a few years ago.... sounded great.... 'just like the album'... made me wonder how much keyboard was actually played live as opposed to heavy reliance on sequencer. If you've heard his recent work it is way different than whan he was singing Cars in 79/80.

Some more TFF for you die hard fans. Ironically, years later but also at the Village. Same hair, different color. heh heh
On an aside, I really love the textural arrangements, instrumental bridges / breaks, and unexpected key changes that TFF put out. Don't hear much of that these days....
