Tell me about this thing. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Thinking about that one that’s $2000 on Reverb Years ago I worked at a rental company in college and we had a couple C12s, a 251, C800G and a Manley Gold...a nice collection of brighter tube mics. I preferred it to the C800G but it was always a tiny bit harsher/sizzlier than I liked. It reminds me of the Brauner Valvet I have now. I will say it’s an impressive microphone to put in front of a singer!

Bright voice here. So... C37-ish Silver is best on me, within the Manley line. Chris

Apparently someone is selling an Upton 251 with a Shannon Rhoades capsule. Always heard that sounded way better.

I've never worked with one....worked with the resultant tracks. Lovely tracks. Lush. Soft. Open up top. Wonderful combo. For $2k? Buy, buy, buy.
