Sounds interesting ! Illusion LiquidSonics’ Illusion is a revolutionary new reverb plug-in and introduces Fusion-IR | Synthesis, a groundbreaking evolution of the industry leading Fusion-IR modulated convolution technology. Illusion goes beyond the abilities of traditional algorithmic reverbs by using a totally new approach to reverb simulation with a suite of highly advanced reverberation technologies that are impossible to implement with any other system. It represents nothing less than a revolution in contemporary reverb design. www.liquidsonics.com/software/illusion/

I have only the basic version of 7th Heaven, and it supplanted all my other far more expensive reverbs. So is this like a 7Th Heaven on steroids?

7th Heaven is on my want list and I'm going to grab it when it goes on sale. I gave the samples for Illusion a listen and I wasn't blown away.

Strangely, I seem to always choose other verbs over seventh heaven...I just never feel like it sounds better...

Strangely, I seem to always choose other verbs over seventh heaven...I just never feel like it sounds better... Are you using the classic Bricasti presets? I would never do a mix without it! Studio B Close is a must on probably everything. Sunset Chamber, Rich Plate, the wooden rooms, etc.

Studio B Close is a must on probably everything. Sunset Chamber, Rich Plate, the wooden rooms, etc. Tending to use R4, Abbey Roads Plates, EMT140 and a couple others over it...although, this made me open it up and I chose Sunset Chamber with a little less decay on a vocal...really nice.

I Do Not Need Another Reverb
Seriously. What is it with all of these great reverbs coming out over the last few years, particularly in the last year or so?

There are 3 downloads to get all the 7thH bricasti verbs. hmm, I had no idea. I have the basic version. Does this mean I'm missing presets, or is that only for the full featured version?

I'll wait for a sale on the upgrade, I'm happy with the presets I have, and don't think need I really any more choices. It would be fun to have more control of EQ and reverb times/tails though. Apple Logic gave new plugs away a while back, and their reverb is as good as most, with excellent parameter controls, all free.
John mentioned the Abbey Road plates, I've heard they're good, but I have the Soundtoys Little Plate, and I choose it all the time over the UAD EMT-140, so that might be all the plate I need. Abbey Road does have a "sound" though, so it's possible those plates just sound pleasantly familiar.
My buddy Dusty Wright did much of his album in his home studio apartment. He has a Focusrite interface that has a button for an "Abbey Road" sound. I have no idea what it does, but I was listening to is tracks and commented it sounds like it was done at Abbey Road! I had no idea there was a button on the interface, so I was shocked that I picked up on that unknowingly. I also loved the Chandler REDD, so I guess I like me some Abbey Road tone. I thought I was a Neve kind of guy, hmmm..
