The Black Ops version would go great with Void Corp.

Yep you know me i love my ribbon mics. I have one of the bm9 models. Super quiet. I sent Stew a pic and file of the ribbon mic in action. Here's the pic. Was there anything specific you were wanting to know about it? Attachments:

Was there anything specific you were wanting to know about it? How do you like it, how does it sound, how does it compare to your other ribbons.... Etc.

It is modern sounding with some top end to it, not old school like an old RCA. I need to spend more time with it as I have not used it except for one recording.

I haven't heard them yet, but Stewart and I have been talking ribbon mics since the early 00's (along with Marik, if your out there ). So these aren't some out of the blue creation, but someone who has decades of experience with ribbon mics. I couldn't wish more success for him! Regards Jon

The link is dead. Does anyone know if the company didn't pan out?

Stewart is my local ribbon serviceman (to the extent that the UK is local to the Nordics). Super solid guy.

Ribbon genius. My old EMI’s Stewart serviced sound amazing and his Beeb Reslo’s I have are so damn funky. The Extinct are like the old B&O’s.

I also have a pair of his Beeb Reslo’s. I’m a fan, I’m interested in trying the Extinct mic’s.

Pardon Paul, IMHO i think the Extincts are what the B&Os wanted to be but never were. The B&Os were copies of the Beyer M31b which was the second or third Beyer ribbon mic. Here's a link to a SOS page about Beyer, where you scroll down halfway and you see one, it's mine, restored by Stewart. It sounds pretty neutral and clear.

Ward/Dr. Bill/Paul G... A veritable Mt. Rushmore. Always there to ease my conscience in getting "just one more" mic. Thanks Gentlemen.
