I have a decent Netgear router, but it's on the far side of the house and the signal to the studio is sketchy. I've seen ads for Netgear Mesh Extenders that claim to be the holy grail, yet many of the reviews claim otherwise. Anyone have a recommendation for a problem-free Mesh Extender?

Can you get wire to the studio?
Eero work well. I have not had good success with the Netgear stuff. The trick with mesh is to have enough of them so that communication between units is strong, unless they are wired.
What service provider do you have?
I would do a traditional Access point set up.

We use an ASUS router/booster so that we can still get WiFi in the kitchen for music when we are cooking, haha, it works really well. WiFi in the rest of the house is OK. But have never had WiFi on the studio PC, always go wired (fibre around 940 Mbps down 190 Mbps up). Don't think I even have a WiFi card in the PC box.

Thank you for the answers. I do have a hardwired CAT5 Jack in the studio control room for use with my workstation computer and a second hardwired CAT5 Jack in the studio Lounge. These are both run back to a switch near the router. The reason I want a better wi-fi signal is that I find that visiting musicians are bringing tablets or iPads Etc and want access so they can get to their music files or whatever else. My service provider here in Connecticut is Charter Spectrum. Man I wish we had fiber optic so we could get numbers like mentioned.

I'm using a Belkin N-300 wireless router. I mainly use it to check customer's wireless stuff, but I do use it for when I take a lap-top outside and on lap-tops in the bathroom and downstairs in the kitchen. No problems with the signal anywhere. Got it at Walmart. The cheapest dual band they had.

Do you care about visitors being on your home network and potentially being able to see your other computers/devices. There are a few ways to set it up, but if I were you I would create a guest network and your private network and isolate them from each other. Isolation can be done a few different ways and at different price point.

Good points. I'll have to look into it.
