Have they made some sort of way to use RTAS in PT11 until all the companies get their plugins ported to 64 AAX??
It seems like I saw something, maybe in the PT 11 thread, about BlueCat making something that allowed the use of RTAS in 11. Honestly, if the slate plugins we all ready to go for 11 I'd go ahead and upgrade to Mavericks and switch to 11. I had a buddy tell me a session he was working on that was eating 80%+ dropped down in the 30's. That just can't be ignored, as much as I want to dig my heals in, that's crazy numbers, so I'm wanting to jump, but there are some essential plugins I use and can't be without.

rtas will not be made to work on pt 11 by avid; it can't work that is what aax is about
yes many non aax plugs can be run in pt x with blue cat audio's mixer multi band plug and or its new patchbay and or use vienna pro
I am running kush and relab 480 in pt 11 in blue cat audio host
you do not need mavericks to run 11
what plugs are you talking about and do they have demo's ? blue cat has a demo and I thought you can get a trial of 11 too ? try it !

I have OSX 10.6.8 on my current machine, so 11 won't work on there. The upgrade to Mavericks is free, whereas if I go to 10.8 I'll have to pay for an upgrade, if PT11 is running good on Mavericks I want to go ahead and go that route, while saving a little coin. Slate's VTM doesn't have the version to go to 11 yet, since that lives on my master buss I don't want to go to 11 until I know I can take that plugin with me. I would imagine Steven will offer the update free like he did with Trigger, but it's still not ready. VBC which also lives on my master buss is ready to go to 11. So I'm really just waiting on that one plugin. I only use a handful of plugins on my tracks because I've got some outboard that I use as well, so I'm not really held up there. I'll have to check the BlueCat audio host out, that's the thing I had heard about, just wondered if that was what people were using. I'll check it out. Thanks!

The basic problem is that you can't use a 32 bit plug-in in a 64 bit DAW unless you have a little bridge application for each plug-in. My experience with bridges in Samplitude has been that they require running a 512 sample buffer and they are very unstable. I've read comparable complaints about every other DAW except Reaper and I never know what to believe about it. I was very happy to see Avid not go there.

The Blue Cat Audio Patchwork and MB-7 Mixer will allow you to run 64 bit VST plugins in PT11.
