And that starts with me...We've already seen some retribution from them - and in all honesty - they could make it very difficult for this board to survive. They carry a lot of weight and influence with advertisers. So - live and let live...
Please don't go fish over there - it would piss me off if people were coming here and posting links to other boards. I enjoyed GS for 7 years and wish them the best. I appreciate our members vim and vigor, but there's no reason to poke the sleeping tiger...

I second the request to close the Gestaposlutz thread. Or even delete it. I know that you (and we) strongly desire an open forum, but common sense has to kick in at some point. I view this place as my home forum, and hope that it would reflect the way I live my life: Do No Harm, try to be a positive influence, and perhaps make some valuable friends along the way. Bashing GS doesn't quite fit this credo. |

Yeah , I say delete the Gearslutz bashing threads for now , just until things cool off . It might turn away new members to see a bunch of drama .

Hi Ward, i think it's natural for some folks to be a little pissy right now, it will fade, and already seems to be. I think we're keeping a good sense of humor about it generally, it doesn't seem vicious? Conversely, on that side, they're power playing politics with peoples livelihoods!, and there is nothing more vicious than that! It was quite condescending and authoritarian around there, and my rebellious spirit didn't cotton to it very well. Their rule book is also pretty strange, and quite flexible in a "do as i say, not as i do" sense. I got banned for posting a document of truth, it's not like they're my buddy, or i worked for them? Someone commented that " tonycamp was in a go around with T belmont, and he was being a douche"? read it again, snarky? yes, dead on point? i think so, and quite helpful before i got pissed about belmonts dirty BS. Look at it with the perspective of they're trying to tear a GREAT vendor down who doesn't cotton to their business model, in a transparently underhanded way. If you don't believe thats true, then why did they move the Capi thread to low end? I rest my case. And to further drive the point home, I honestly think the real reason i got banned, is i'm such a boisterous advocate of DIY? They could care less about your needs or opinions, they just want you to tow the line and buy Lindell. What happened to Warren? he was here for a second?, what kind of pressure was placed on him?
This place has been operating in the brotherly spirit of helping one another out, virtually top to bottom, can u really say that about GS?

Jules and company have every right to lick the balls of any advertiser they wish. Capitalism makes the world go round and I have nothing personal against that. What does bother me though is moral high ground they claim to disguise ulterior motives, in the case of our good cousin JK here. It is what it is and they won't change IMO until they have ran off every serious recordist over there. All they'll have left is really what they want, a 100,000 or so bedroom dudes that buy plugins and interfaces to advertise to. So then, like you say above, I hope this place stays a place where like minded serious musicians and engineers can come and hang, share and be polite to each other same as we would if were face to face in a studio somewhere. My thoughts anyway.
