Another sad, sad loss. I will always look up to this man as one of the true greats. My hero.
Rest in peace JJ.

JJ was a fellow Tulsan - although quite before my time. Used to hear a lot of stories about him from one of his old school mates.

Many do not know that JJ was also a great engineer who could fix or solve most problems within his studio But most important were his albums, I always requested a Vinyl as well as the CD (CD's were only to be played in my car)
His albums took up more time on my Turntable than any other artist I have in my collection, and my Vinyl collection would certainly not be an embarrassment to any serious collector.
I never saw a picture of JJ for a long time but I managed to obtain a T-Shirt with an empty picture frame painted on the front, in the picture frame were the written words "Last known picture of JJ Cale ". It was a sad day when that T-Shirt could not be worn again due to Wear & Tear but not as sad as July 26 2013, no artist has effected me like this for 60 Years when it was announced in 1953 that Hank Williams had gone, it was my birthday to, the worst birthday ever.
But also equally as important he was without doubt, an extremely nice person. BUT. I do find it somewhat annoying that someone has to advertise Clapton's album on the JJ Cale Facebook page, 24 hours later.
Kind Regards,
