Shoot. I was hoping to not get this, but the more of you who jump in, I'm feeling the inexorable pull. Like I'm on the event horizon, and all it takes is one final nudge... (Quoting myself. Is that kosher around here?) Well, I gave in and ordered one. Just too hard to resist at that price. This definitely pushes me to sell my 6176, as well. I've never been in love with the 610 pre, and now I won't need the 1176 side.

As Johnkenn pointed out, 5 demerit points. Each demerit point is $100. Please send to Johnkenn via PayPal. And don't cheap out, I have a commission at stake here.

Yeeeee stam ... i pull the trigger and pre-ordered one. Exciting He'll yeah. I've got a feeling that this is going to stay parked on vocals. The ability to switch between A, D and G is killer. Wish I could afford two of them, but I'm saving up for the modular Zulu this summer.

On FB yesterday, Josh said it will default to A, leaving a switch open which he will likely make a bypass.

So did Stam confirm knobs working traditionally? Someone here mentioned Stams current ‘76 is backwards? Or maybe I dreamed this, very similiar storyline to most of my dreams.

Just ordered the 76ADG and yesterday I ordered the SA67. Being a member here has cost me quite a bit of money in the past couple of months.

We will wire them like the traditional, 5 second job, don't worry. I hadn't even given it a thought since I got my SA76A I was just turning knobs till I liked it.. I just did a reamp of guitars and I used the SA76, and I had a look at the attack and release knobs... and they are Attack 2pm Release 10 am, which if the knobs are revered.. is actually the 10 and 2 , Dr Pepper setting....8) cheers Wiz PS the A sounds great... every piece of STAM gear I have, SA76A, SA4000, SA2A all has this "weight" to the sound. I really like it.

I also feel slightly frustrated at the fact I put down a deposit for an SA76 in January 2017, at full 599 price because all pre-orders were taken, I get an email a week ago that my unit is shipped, so thats over year and 4 months, and then a day later Stam release this new version, which trumps the one I ordered and costs 100USD less. I understand that there is a wait with stam audio products, and I haven't emailed once regarding wait times, I just patiently waited, however this seems a bit much.
I will email stam directly and see what can be done. This new version with the knobs the right way round, and 2.1 ratio, and different flavours would be much more useful to me.

The price and functionality of this new SA76 is very exciting to me, but like Matt555- I'm experiencing the same regrets.
I also got in on the pre-order for the original SA76 and waited for a year, and the unit is now going to take a bath on the second-hand market.
I like Stam and Joshua a lot, but this business model may not be the best for early adopters.

So this sold out but apparently $499 price extended to Sunday from FB today! How does one know if they're in that first 100 or not? I was assuming that once the mark was reached, the product page would change but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I would expect him to hold to that, he has always been true to his word as far as I can tell.

Neat idea, but those of us who've been using A, D/F, G revisions know there isn't a whole lot of difference between in the compression character of them. The biggest difference is the rev A noise and gritty sound. Every other revision is a lot closer to each other than most people think.

The difference in the sale price is first batch was for July delivery, the extended $499 price, till Sunday, is a September delivery.
