When I first saw this, my reaction was that it wasn't a good idea creatively. But I had to check myself. Yes the song would be better either as just a pop production with JT or a stripped down ballad by Chris alone, however thank God we are getting back to a time in music where chances are being taken and artists have the freedom to work together. I think it's great that Justin is a big Stapleton fan, it shows he has good taste in music, but perhaps sticking his buddy in this track was a little bit of a disconnect. I support both of these artists and I am particularly fond of Chris Stapleton.

Chris is great, of course, but it has only been recently that it clicked that Timberlake is kind of an "ubermensch". What I mean is that he is a fantastic singer, dancer, actor, and all in all might just be one of the most talented entertainers in the world. He has flown way under my radar as his stuff was not anything close to what I have ever listened to. What opened my eyes to reevaluate my opinion was the duet of Tennessee Whiskey with Mr. Stapleton. I was waaaay impressed. I won't hold his work during half-time during the Super Bowl against him, it felt a bit contrived and out of place to me.

Seriously talented fun guy. You might like this too. I like the rawness of it but is a cool part of this movie. 20/20 experience is one of the best albums I think I've heard in the last few years. Pt1 specifically. The engineering is also stellar. This is a funny scene from the same movie.
