www.sonnox.com/toolbox/voxdoublerBeen testing this new combo of Thicken and Widen. Very useful. I like the Thicken last in a chain before RA or some limiter. It's a little better than Fix Doubler in most respects but can't do everything the Fix does. Widen works better for me on an aux than Waves Doubler or the H910. Both have a little bit of a learning curve. The doubles are almost as authentic as what Revoice creates based on my own experiments(I still have to make doubles using the latest Revoice update though). The big difference being you can tweak a new track a lot more. I'm using Thicken as a harmonizer more than for creating overdubs. Both of these help with mixing vocal harmonies. I plan to use Thicken for overdubs on a new session soon. Looking forward to see what else develops in this toolbox line since the prices aren't astronomical like their other stuff.

This is sick. I got it for 19 at Plugin Boutique. Beats the Fix as viciousbliss said and is cheaper. Sonnox are my favorite for vocal compression and doubling now. You have the Oxford Dynamics to brutally crush it in a modern, parallel processing way and the Voca to crush it in a classic sequential limiter into leveler way. With TDR Arbiter for de-essing (Kotelnikov is too respectful of the material compared to these brutal compressors), I am set.

For some things it beats the Fix, for others I prefer the former. The Sonnox is definitely closer to what Revoice Pro could do and sounds more like a realistic double. What I've learned since 2018 is that a lot of other things effect how well these FX blend. So, a lot of my workflow with compression, saturation, etc, has been as a reaction to getting these things to sound as natural as possible. Nowadays they are basically giving these doubler plugins away despite how valuable they are. It's a no brainer to pick them up.

I have been using Fix for years. I just picked this up and will give it a try. I'm such a sucker for plugins.... and hardware..... and...

So I can see the value for this if you've been hired for a mix. But if you're tracking as well, is there utility here that beats just actually singing the double?
I mostly mix stuff I also recorded even in for-hire scenarios, I've never thought about such a tool for that reason.

Or who has such bad timing that getting the lead vocal correct is a challenge. Even with a good singer, you can save time creating harmonies with it. I've done some experiments using the Sonnox in place of a real recorded double and it can do a decently adequate job.

..you can save time creating harmonies with it.. Does it have specific pitch shift capabilities?

VoxDoubler sounds super cool. Bought it after demoing a short while. Will test the Softube too.
