That can be had today - no Vintage. I’ll start
Fat Bottom Flea 47 —> Neve 1073 —> Sta-Level
Modern Clean Chandler REDD Mic —> Martech MSS-10 —> CAPI FC 526
Modern Colored Telefunken 251 —> Helios —> Chandler RS-124
I could go on...

Those are interesting combos that would probably work. I lean toward the middle chain since I'm Martech-edly + clean compressionly biased.
But mine would be..
Peluso 22-251->AMS Neve 1081->LA2a I recon...
I have one of the three in that line up.

I think your choices would probably be right on. The Flea 47 is really good. The T-251 can be heard in a "Modern Color" style on Beck's Sea Change, which was an amazingly well recorded album. It also fair to call the Chandler REDD Modern, because even though it's as big and full as any U47 and 67, the top end is extended further, yet it stays incredibly clean up there.
I've never used the Martech, but would like to try it sometime.
I don't know if a vintage U67 into an SSL 9000 can be beat, though it would be fun to have tried all the likely combos to find the one I prefer. So far for me, it's a U67 or a Chandler REDD if I could afford one, and anything else is gravy.

One would be Samar MF-65 -> Fearn VT-1 -> FCS P4 DMS
----disqualified: I own 2 of those 3, and only stuck the other in because it's currently available------

Flea 47 -> AMS Neve 1084 -> Tube Tech CL1B
But I would rather spend the money on playing with guys who can help me make better songs...

This shootout was interesting. I like the CL1B the most, the Retro 176 next.

Of the things I own a Flea 49 -> GML 8304 -> Highland Dynamics BG-2 has been my favorite combo. I haven’t really loved my 49 that much, it always seems to have too much low mids and not enough air, but this combo seems to work great

Apparently this is not 'PC' however based on what we have...
Guys: Flea 47 > Heritage Audio 8173 > Sta Level
Girls: Bock 251 or Neumann U77 > Mercury Audio V76m > WA2A
I'd swap the WA2A for a Tube Tech CL1B if we had one.

I'm pretty happy with my Soyuz SU-017 or Pearlman TM-250 (depending on the vocalist/song) > REDD.47 > RS124.

Depending on source:
MIC: REDD Mic, Flea 47, 49, or a Bock or Tele 251
PRE: Neve or BAE 1073, or Coil Audio, REDD 47, Retro OP6
COMP: Undertone UnFairchild 670 II, RS124, STA Level I have one of those mics and one of those pres and one of those comps. My work is cut out for me but I may just stop while I’m behind 😀

I'm finding that I love the consistency of using the same chain for everything. helps get the gear out of the way of the music. also helps when the quality isn't ever a question. costly but priceless.
that being said my dreams would be something like:
RCA 44 -> RCA OP6 -> UREI 1176 -> Lang PEQ (what I'd like to add some day)
U67s -> Vintage UA610 X2 -> Fairchild 670 -> Klein & Hummel UE-100 (stereo mission impossible)
REDD47 -> RS124 -> EQP1A -> MEQ (what I'm currently using, dreaming that I can keep it all forever)

Today a 414B-ULS was picked for vocal over UMT70S, MF65, TLM67, MK67, MK47, and MJE-K47H. The MK47 lost badly. I probably shoulda tried the SM7 while I was at it. The 414 was the best balanced cure for a raspy airy resonance that would only get worse with processing, while being fatter/clearer than the others. UMT70S was runner up. TLM67 electronics beat the MK67 electronics.
In 20 years of owning that 414, it's never been used on a vocal. It lives on bass amp (Glyn Johns), wins clean jazz guitar a lot, and gets stuck between toms in F8.
It'll be different tomorrow. Sorry, OT......dreams will let you down......
