Looks an awful lot like an 1176, from the pictures.

Hey guys.  I hadn't heard about this forum prior to Jesse emailing me about it.  Seems pretty cool.

But I just wanted to pop in and "explain" this comp because, as Ward noted, it does look like an 1176.  But it isn't.  The first clue is the fact that there's a threshold knob. 
This whole thing started off years ago when I came across a pair of green eyelet pushbutton switchbanks.  They were way too cool to pass up so I bought them.  My intention was to build an 1176 with them, however that plan never came to fruition and those switchbanks sat on the end of my workbench for several years. 
Fastforward to October 2012.  Through my normal cycle of buying vintage knobs and meters and then using them for customer orders, I had this vintage rectangular API/LFE meter with an FSD appropriate for my buss comp circuit sitting on my bench next to those switchbanks that had been there for years, and a thought struck me.  With Halloween coming up, it would be the perfect time to build a buss compressor that was, for lack of a better term, wearing an 1176 costume.  I even wired the attack and release rotary switches "backward" to mimick an 1176 with the fastest settings being at full CW (unlike on a buss comp where the fastest settings are at full CCW).  I even added a GR OFF setting at full CCW on the attack knob like on an 1176, which is different from the buss comp's bypass setting.  I also added a few of the optional features I offer for my buss comps, and there you have it: a buss comp that only an eye familiar with buss comp controls would recognize.  Takes a bit of a sense of humor to appreciate, maybe
