so thinking out loud,
I have 4 auditronics a30 output modules. I bought them a few years back to harvest the jensen transformers.
lately, have been thinking of using them as is with something diy in front like the jlm bad kits setup with Jensen opamp and input transformer. I have the transformers.
or maybe a spectrasonics 110 amp board could be used. would that even work. I believe the spectra sonics amps are meant to be stacked to get 75db of gain so if I stack a spectra sonics 110 pre and the auditronics board I should get about 65db.
does anyone have any thoughts or other ideas. does anyone know if spectra sonics sell the 110 boards. seems they are making 500 series version of their gear now.

Maybe swap the output transistors to newer, better stuff? On Semi makes a bunch of really nice ones, some TO220 sized and designed for audio.

Thanks jim.
I've got 2 being paired with spectra sonics 101 cards..
The other 2 I was going to put with a pair of jlm bad preamps. I'll have a look into newer parts on those.
