Looking at the bay for a good function gen. A few old Bk units. Is a sweep unit any more useful than a standard one?
Got a usb scope for Christmas, but now need the function portion. Will use it for a variety of duties from tube amps to rack gear.
Thanks for the time!

Unless you are planning on doing anything crazy, just about any will work for audio duties. A sweep unit does just that, it sweeps the tone in a unbroken movement from point A to point B. It's not terribly useful for audio unless you are using peak hold measurements on an FFT(spectrum/frequency domain) view of the scope plots.
