I submitted a mix, to a Facebook group run by Kenny Gioia called Groove3Gurus. He liked it and asked if they could use it for their mix/master off competitions.. which I agreed to. I sent him the tracks, and the comp will be this month. So, as we hadn't done this for a while here, me putting up tracks for people to have some fun with.. I thought I would share. Do what you want with it, just don't use it please for commercial/promotion purposes. cheers Wiz 48 Khz 24 bit 116 Bpm key is A. Tiny Moments Zip File

Export window, you can drag a file down to the bottom window so I grabbed the combined track as it was easy and uploaded to souncloud:
SD3 automatically creates discrete or combined files for each/all files you import.

The tracks hat and ride are overheads. Names refer to side of the kit
So don't you need to copy those tracks to isolate all the kit parts?
Cheers

look at my first screenshots I cut and paste all those files into sd3 tracker in one paste and it analyses each separately in turn and creates a separate midi track with different voice for each track. so here is a SC mp3 of the massenburg gretch kit from the logic session on the right hand side shot of tracker you can see the tracks stacked vertically: one for each wav file, mix knob is fully right for 100% wet meaning just the massenburg sounds and I opened up the threshold to max to get all your hits soundcloud.com/kcatthedog/wiz-sd3if you go to SC this will play there are about 4 bars 20 seconds of silence at beginning.

I just listened to your Sound cloud.. its what I am trying to say, admittedly badly 8)
Its not a ride part at the start of the song, its hats...
I mic my kit with two KM184s in a spaced pair. Rename my RIDE and HAT tracks to Overhead Left and right, and it will click for you. Either that or have a listen to the drum tracks I recorded, then it will come clear.
cheers

Finishing up a quarter right now. Got a lot of math studying the next couple days but then I'll have a break and I'd love to take a spin on the drums.

Hey Wiz,
So with the additional tracks sounds like this: not certain I got the various thresholds exactly right but obviously you get the idea.

Hey Wiz, So with the additional tracks sounds like this: not certain I got the various thresholds exactly right but obviously you get the idea. https%3A//soundcloud.com/kcatthedog/wiz-sd31Thanks for taking the time to do that. there is obviously midi editing to be done on that as I can hear a cymbal being played almost the entire time, and the levels are all over the shop as well as all the hits not being detected. That being said, the technology is interesting. honestly for me though, I think I would rather go for a root canal than get back into midi...8) thanks again cheers Wiz

This song is really beautiful. I dig it, the vocal has a lot of sincerity and that harmony track is just killer. So... I took a stab at it. Hope I did it justice, I tried to generally go with the vibe of the tracking decisions. Please let me know what you think, getting some feedback on this would be great. www.dropbox.com/s/2dvuw3j3xvfzkpo/Tiny%20Moments%20-%20Dogears.wav?dl=0

I love this stuff... love to hear people's interpretations... very cool. Its interesting to hear it with different panning, I am a big LCR guy, so its cool to hear it more centred. Drums sit nicely. Interesting to hear them reversed panned to what I do. Harmonies sound well balanced. I felt the resonator was over compressed at the start, but the solo sounds cool, Then sounds over compressed towards the end. I also hear the birds tweeting at the end ....8) NotesWhat I am hearing on my system, is a bottom end build up. Mainly on the bass and taylor acoustic..... They could do with some HPF to clear up the low end. Nice work matt@IAA and thanks again for taking the time to put the mix up Anyone else interested? cheers Wiz

Thanks wiz, glad you liked it.
All I did for the solo was double it and put a verb and delay on the second track, fade in to taste.
What was the vocal chain on the main and oohs? I really dig those textures.
One thing I wasn’t happy with.. I would have liked to have saturated the kick a lot more. Ran out of time, wife was giving me the stink eye to go to sleep. But in my head I was hearing the kick saturated out to almost a flub.

Made the linked file not huge so Dropbox's preview works.
But, wanted to point out, since I wasn't verbose earlier--you wanted to know what drum sample tech would sound like on your stuff...was the reason I posted publicly. I wouldn't use SD3, while it's sitting right here on the machine, because it's been terrible for the purpose/methods I employ to beef up "home studio" drums. I would hope you trust my ears on that...I can run the same thing with SD3, but it will sound not natural. Promise.
There's no reason for a Logic user to use the Tracker element in SD3, IMO. That's for people using a DAW that doesn't have built in capabilities for drum "replacement". And even there--while I mixed this in 32c, I did the sample augmentation in Cubase first. cubase because I'm back on the Windows machine--I've done it for clients in LPX may times. I never really noticed one being particularly better or worse at it. Functionally, they seem to end up with the same'ish results.
