Filled in e-mail info but never got e-mail conformation. Hey Winetree - good to see you around here hmm strange regarding that confirmation mail...did you check your spam folder? What is the first part of your email address - I can check if it's in the list. If not, can you try again - maybe from a different browser? Just let me know Martin

Sorry for the long silence folks! But FINALLY my next video & e-papers are ready and we can get started for real!! In this video it's all about getting to know the legendary pieces of gear I already built from scratch (and want to show you how to build at some point in the future. And I'll also explain one of these iconic pieces in detail - how it works and what it does...paving the way towards showing you how to build it in the next episode I put a lot of work into it - please let me know how you like it - either right here or directly in the comment section of my page. Thanks guys - your feedback helped me a lot so far!

Really digging what your doing here. I have a few Stam pieces and have built a few CAPI pieces and a few DIYRE pieces. I have little "electronics" training but I can't stop soldering things. I love the educational element of what your doing too.

I am new to DIY. I'm fearless and hopefully don't get electrocuted! That would suck!

Thanks guys! I realized there was not much going on here lately, so if you're interested and in case you missed it - the next episode is online! In this episode I'll share the ultimate blueprint to build a tube opto compressor - meaning a complete wiring layout split up in more than 20 chapters in a 24(!!) pages e-paper. So if you missed it, you should really check it out: and as always - feedback is highly appreciated Martin

Great to have you on board guys!! For those who don't know yet - I finally released the last episode of this first "build your legend" series! It's all about the last missing bits to finally get you started to build your own legendary Tube-Opto-Compressor! In this episode I also share a very detailed bill of materials with links to every single component you'll need and where to get them. There's even a Mouser shopping cart, so you can get 80% of the components with one click! Very straight forward! The BOM includes only high quality components that are up to par with the original units - and depending on where you are located the complete build will cost from around $850-950 if using Sowter transformers up to over $1300 or $1400 if you go all vintage components, NOS tubes etc... I'll continuously work on the BOM and keep you posted if you subscribed - I might add cheaper options in some spots - or at least outline what cheaper alternatives there are - even if they are not that HQ as what we have in the BOM right now. It might get the entry level price down to about $700. Open for feedback guys Beyond that - if you haven already noticed - I also started a group-buy for my 2nd revision Tube-Opto-Compressor chassis kit. We'll collect the orders and have them manufactured...but see for yourself: Let me know how you like it - I put a lot of work into it (again ) P.S.: As mentioned in the video I preordered 50kits already which are already in stock and will ship directly - but they're going fast. The rest will have to be manufactured once the group buy closes. P.P.S.: If you're already subscribed - you'll get the links to the videos and e-paper directly delivered to your mailbox

Not that I have a hate for UA, seems like it lately...lol. But $3799 for a LA-2A? LOL again! Seriously? Sales can't be too good.

They look great, are so easy to follow, and are fun. I did not take the plunge for the LA-2A and might regret it, but right now money is not there. At first I was wondering if there was a catch in doing all this for free, but when I realized you have a thread on the white market on GroupDIY, I thought that it was a great way to promote your chassis ! I am eager to find out about the STA-Level. Keep it going !

Is there anyway of accessing the existing videos and epapers? I'm getting ready to start my build but I can't access the build guide.

Is there anyway of accessing the existing videos and epapers? I'm getting ready to start my build but I can't access the build guide. all group buy members should have received a link with access to all videos an e-papers about 2 weeks ago Let me know if you didn't receive it. I'm still working on the step by step guide and I'm very sorry for the delay, but it's just so much more work than expected. So far it's more than 500 build pics on more than 50 pages...and counting. But I'm positive I'll be able to finish it very soon! Here's a screenshot of an overview of a couple of the pages I'm working on:

I finally found it. I could really use that build guide. I am halfway through the build. Sorry for the looong delay on the guide - the first chapter (the first 20-25 pages) will be released this week and the rest is coming next week. It'll be around 500 pics on 60 pages...much much more work than expected, but well worth it I think

Now, if I want to demo any of the clones I have a reference. Same goes with the 1176 and my API 2500 and my GML 8200. I do own the SSL clone-the Smart C2. I wish I had bought the SSL. Also have a Bricasti. Wish I would have started with a classic Lexicon for a hardware verb. I'd rather go top down- knowing resale is strong, than bottom up, though I realize not everybody can afford to do it that way. I believe there is always a market for people like me who are willing to pay for the lineage. To each his own.

Yeah finally - all members of the group buy should have received their copy of the almost 60 pages fully pictured step by step guide on the tube opto comp. What a ride - I shot almost 750 pics for it - of which roughly 400 made it into the guide... Thanks for your patience gentlemen!!

Circling back around to say that I finally finished my LA2A build, and it turned out great. Nice and quiet. No hum even dimed. Sounds great... Nice weight to the low-end and nice smooth compression. I will post a pic when I am on a PC. Martin really did a great job on this. Also a big hand to bowie for a great tube complement.
