Hey guys, So I have an Ibanez SR505 that I really like. The shape and taper of the neck is very comfortable to play, especially for a 5 string. The tone is pretty nice too but could use an improvement. The high EQ especially, it has a high pitched whine to it, at around 7k, when boosted. And excessive top end Hiss. I was thinking about switching out the active eq/preamp in it for something better, with lower noise. Any recommendations? Bartolini has a pre wired drop in replacement.
Any other brands I should look at? Any and all advice welcome. Thanks.

Bart has a slight colour to it which I like.
Aguilar OPB3 is fairly neutral sounding but a little boring/sterile whats the point type scenario.
Have not tried Nordstrand Preamps yet but there pickups are nice.
