My two Distressors don't reset to their former settings when powered off, and one of the meter LED's is permanently on. Their customer support says to fix this I have to replace the memory cap on both units to fix the memory problem and replace an IC for the LED problem. So, I was wondering how difficult this is. Any thoughts from Distressor owners would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I'd just contact Dave. For certain serial numbers, repairs are free anyway. For the older ones, it's a really low flat rate.
But if you contact Dave, he'll get it sorted out for you one way or another. Top shelf service.

Happened to me. I think I remember it's a faulty relay. Fixed at the factory free of charge.

Thanks guys. I'm beyond the warranty. So , I was hoping not to have to ship the units. If there's anybody that fixed the problem themselves let me know. I changed my opamp on my API 3124 with no problem, but perhaps this is a more difficult diy fix.

It shouldn't be any more difficult, so long as they'll tell you what and were.

I agree with Doug. If you've don't that, this shouldn't be a big deal and might be a good experience as it will make you comfortable doing other simple repairs. ICs are a lot easier to remove with a good de-soldering unit. But, that doesn't mean you can't do it with basic equipment, so long as you've had a little practice and feel comfortable.
