I just picked up a Monday night Karaoke hosting gig. I'm a mediocre singer at best. Any fairly easy song suggestions that I should have in my repertoire? I'm looking for some diversity to able to cater to the crowd a bit. My list is basically a bunch of stuff that 30 somethings might be interested in, but not much for an older crowed or a younger college crowd (which I'm expecting). Looking for mostly upbeat, "fun", sing along stuff because nobody wants to hear ballads from a shitty singer.
Here's most of the stuff that I do currently, at least well enough to sing at a Karaoke bar.
Save a Horse - Big & Rich Everybody Talks - Neon Trees Cold Hard Bitch - Jet Inside Out - Eve 6 All The Small Things - Blink 182 The Distance - Cake Short Skirt Long Jacket - Cake Santeria - Sublime Garden Grove - Sublime Badfish - Sublime Smoke 2 Joints - Sublime Hey Jealousy - Gin Blossoms Basketcase - Green Day Lump - POTUSA Peaches - POTUSA Creep - Radiohead Last Night - The Strokes Blister In The Sun - Violent Femmes Cocaine Blues - Johnny Cash The Weight - The Band This Is How We Do It - Montell Jordan Skee Lo - I Wish Regulate - Warren G Good Feeling - Flo Rida Fuck You - Cee Lo Green Baby One More Time - Britany Spears Party In The USA - Miley Cyrus

Oh I get it, it's songs that you sing.
How 'bout "Drink In My Hand," Eric Church
"Free" Zac Brown
"Gone Country" Alan Jackson

Seriously, some Katy Perry? California Girls? I dunno. I used to play in a pop cover band that did California Girls. I sang the Snoop part in it, so I've got that down. I'll check out these country tunes. Totally out of my element, but people love that stuff. I expect the crowd to be mainly 21 year old college kids so I'm trying to do stuff they'll like, but probably not songs they'll be planning to sing. If anyone wants to follow my shenanigans, I'm now on Facebook and Instagram as @teddyandtheroosevelts Also, add me on snapchat.com/add/teddyroosevelts It's gonna be lit...or whatever the kids are saying.

Those tunes aren't too difficut to sing and are good time tunes. I didn't listen to much rock from the late 'oughts on because I didn't think it was very good.

Well, the my first night hosting was a success. Had a 14 singer rotation going. Went about 3 times through the rotation and I only had to do 3 songs all night. Bar was happy and the customers had a good time, so all in all a good night. I gotta be up in 4 hours for work, but that's the life of a rockstar I guess. Haha
