I was gonna say, a Bernese Mountain dog, but that pales in comparison to jazznoise's pointed commentary.
That Sta-Level looks sick., I can feel the vibe from here.
Do you guys prefer it on the mix buss, an individual track, or both?

I would imagine it's probably too slow for the mix...but I've never had two at one time to try...But, vocal, bass and even acoustic...

I've heard of guys running a mix through it one side at a time John but I haven't done it yet. My guess is it would sound pretty darn good set to single with a medium to fast recovery. I'll get around to it someday and find out.

In my imaginary studio, one year or less from today, I see a Sta-Level, Heritage 73 and a Burl Bomber . You guys are inspiring me to dream bigger !

Anyway - yes - I tried with both...made mine a little hairier...a little more wolfy. To me, the 6386 without the 6BJ6's sounded the best...but I'm honestly not sure I would pass a blind test with the stock configuration. Tin ears...

For me the STA is a fundamental link of my #1 chain. Glad you are doing it JK. Thinking about getting a 2nd so I can mix though them. I see no reason why killer mixes can't be made with the best outboard on the way in, and the best of the plug world ITB. Of course, YMMV. I was sold on the hybrid approach until very recently.
